[NETFLIX] Raising Dion (Black Superhero Family Drama)

Interesting. Looks pretty unique as far as superhero shows go.

 

I like the Idea, but I hope that isn't what it's going to look like when it's finished. Reminds me of the movie Sleight. I'm rooting for everybody black.

It's amazing Micheal B Jordan can't get any work after Creed.

 

Maybe he's just very selective. A slightly different approach than Nicolas Cage.

 

I don't know, man. He has had nothing since Creed and Fantastic 4 three years ago. That was a LONG time ago in Hollywood years.

 

yeah I know. But that's pretty much it and that was green lit years ago. He hasn't had anything since they announced Black Panther.

The child Acting is too rough
The tone is too inconsistent
The Writing/editting kind of did not handle the story as well as should have

Yeah the kid sucks. It could be worse, I'll watch until the end, but it my take me awhile. B- to C+ is an accurate rating.

 

I think @omgTHEpotential is right - he's just selective about what he wants to do. A quick glance at his wiki says that he's re-teaming with Coogler for a movie and is also starring in (and producing) another movie. He's also producing Raising Dion.

Maybe he wants to branch out and be more behind-the-scenes / behind-the-camera?

Small victories for black superheroes - at least he isnt named "Black Dion".

 

I thought a superhero resurrected El Gnomo.

 

The kid actor was bad but the story was interesting and fun.

 

They not better this season either. - The kids are for an overdose of CUTE to make up for the acting
Good story but Dion is such a Gary Sue its unreal
They are so . . . preachy and really trying to stuff alot of MESSAGEs into everything

It's good for the kids to watch but adults will have to embrace the cringe, bad acting and overly hamfisted simplistic messages
