Through 4 episodes. Regarding Dr. Smith... I have no problem with the acting. I have general problems with the story. It's just not logical and frankly tiresome. Didn't watch the original enough to know how the Smith character is different now, but sounds like from the above its much more tiresome now.
She is literally a waste of space other than the "We not Murderers" thing . .. . why bother to let her live at all? She provides 'Nothing' and in space with limited resource . . why waste air and food on her? Rocket River
I finished watching season one and it was decent. All of the Dr. Smith BS does get kind of old but, unfortunately, she's a main player in the plot and show. Every little thing seems to go back to what she is doing and how she affects it. They can't go to the bathroom without her peering around the corner. The last episode, which sets up the next season, felt predictable and was kind of lame but was decently executed. There was enough there to keep watching albeit I dozed off at various times so it registered on my snooze meter somewhat.
Parker Posey is a goddam national treasure. Haven't seen the show yet, don't really care, but don't make me fight you.
Watched 5 and 6 last night. This show is... well, kind of slow.... and less from the perspective of a random consumer, and more if I was an in-depth critic... I'm just not in love with the direction and cinematography. For example, they just can't help themselves and are constantly swooping the camera around scenes in circles, back and forth. other stuff like that. I'll watch anything sci-fi and generally like it, and I still like this....
Yes Hauling around a person that is responsible for at least 2 deaths and 3 attempted murders . . .for no other reason than 'well we not murderers' is ridiculous considering that . that very person has attempted to kill, allow you family to die several time I state again . . there is *no* reason to allow Dr Smith to live In fact she is a threat to their very existance and it is not mitigate by any useful skill what so ever Rocket River
It is decent Sci-Fi. Dr. Smith is over the top evil. However, It is entertaining and I hope it gets a season 2.
I am halfway through. It reminds me of LOST. They are basically on the island, trying to survive, seeing who else is there. There are flashbacks for character development, just like in LOST. LOST however, is a much much better show. Better story, better writing, better characters, better acting, etc. This show just reminds me of it. I think Lost in Space is decent so far. I am enjoying it. I can't stand Will. He annoys the **** out of me. The scenery is cool. Dr. Smith could have been a much better character, imo. If she was, this could be a great season of television.
I came close to hating this and turning it off by the fifth or sixth episode mainly because of Dr. Smith. I started doing small skips every time she started to talk.
