Aww man not the shift to ominous music. That's my childhood Netflix. That theme song was second in catchiness to the NBA on NBC theme.
It's a typical 30 by 30, but they do get the villain to talk. So you hear both sides. Not all of the Gladiators would talk about it. Kept my interest at least.
Different one. You get more of the gladiator perspective of how the show went. I really loved it. Only problem I had was that they had jumbled some of the timeline of the original show. I gained a new respect for Nitro.
Watching it today, it's good. I remember the show growing up and it was fun and a primetime hit back then. Cool to learn the back stories and origins so far.
Imagine Ninja Warriors games simplified but with a huge hulking ninja trying to beat the **** out of you. That was American Gladiators.
It was really unique as game shows go in that, for me at least, it was ALL about the gladiators. I mean, I never cared a lick about any of the contestants. I WANTED them to lose. I wanted them to get destroyed by the gladiators. I suppose some Japanese game shows are similar in that the viewers enjoy seeing the contestants suffer, but I feel like American Gladiators was ahead of its time in that regard (at least in the US).
Always imagined playing this game as a kid even though I probably wouldn't make it past the first station....
It was decent. They stretched and repeated enough out for an extra episode. You could tell early on the producers didnt gaf about the people. ****wit suits stumbled on a great idea but grounded all their human assets to the ground... pre-2k era tv production brutal af...
They really have a 24/7 live stream replaying old American Gladiator episodes. https://www.youtube.com/live/8ZTs3kSsSJU?feature=share
