As i look at my Xfinity account
and then my Netflix accounts etc

They always suggesting this that or the other
supposedly 'based one my other viewing'

I find Netflix to be more wrong than XFinity
Netflix feels more like pushing product that true suggestions
Because you liked The Incredibles . .. you might like . . .THE LATEST ADAM SANDLER DISGRACE!!!

None of these site ever come close to getting it right for me.

Surprisingly, YouTube's suggested videos are always spot on for me. I can usually just go to their front page and watch half the videos they suggest.

I don't think Netflix even tries.
They just have product to push

    Youtube is surprisingly good.
So good that a quick jump in to listen to a song can turn into hours

I wish they had an app to make a playlist and would play when it is not open for the phone.

I don't think there's enough decent content on Netflix for that feature to work correctly there. 99% of it is garbage.

I feel like Netflix recommendations actually used to work okay. But that went all the way out the door when they started doing original programming. Now they seem to push that stuff at me most of the time, regardless of whether it's to my taste.

Amazon does okay I guess. Once in a blue moon one of their recommendations catches my eye (maybe once every year or two?).

I've never really even noticed recommendations from Facebook. If they're there, I guess they're too easy to tune out. Then again I'm on Facebook maybe a cumulative 10 minutes per week and don't have a smartphone, so I may not be their "average" user.

Well, no smartphone means you're a hundred years old, so you are their average user.
