They really need to be careful about how and when they release this highly sensitive information.

Imagine a FLURRY of tweets on twitter from WOJ and Shams.

WOJ: KD's official height comes in a 7'0" league sources tell ESPN
SHAMS: JJ Barea's official height comes in 5'11" league sources tell the Athletic
WOJ: Player X's official height comes in at 6'X" league sources tell ESPN
    ......

    Comical.

I wouldn't mind it tbh. More exciting than preseason where most stars will load manage and skip it.
At least we will have something to talk about.

I have no problem with it either. Would be funny. But that is NBA Twitter.

Good. It’s weird to me that this is only now a requirement — in 2019. There’s no good reason for this information to not be public and accurate.

What does a NBA player and a Hollywood actress have in common?

A: Both may have misreported their age.

if any gambler has this information affect his bets, then he is brain dead and deserves to be ripped off all his money.

This should be a draft type announcement show. Adam Silver walks up to a podium and announces...

"With the first pick, the 7-feet-2-inchers officially select... Joel Embiid"

So on an so forth... interspersed with green room footage of Chris Paul sitting there sweating like Aaron Rodgers waiting for his name to be called.

I don't disagree, but it also falls into the so what category. ie...what difference does it make what height they publish? If they said Chris Paul was 6'6"...what does that change?

pretty sure the answer is 'nothing'.

6'6" Chris Paul would be the GOAT.

Yes, he would be great. BUT does them simply saying he's 6'6" make him 6'6". No. His actual height doesn't change, no matter what they say. So...what they say doesn't really matter.

It wouldn't change how they play. But it would definitely change how they would be perceived, especially as a prospect. If you were a center and were listed as a 7-footer instead of 6'10, you'd have better chances for being watched by teams.

It won’t affect betting in any meaningful way, but I find it likely that gambling was the impetus here. The league wants to make sure no one can complain that they are anything but honest and transparent in every way.

But, who's doing the measuring? Does the NBA have an official measurement Person? Did the NBA just send a text to all the teams requesting accurate measurements? There must be protocols. Right?
