I can't imagine having a problem with the color of the Rockets jerseys. They're red. How inspired is Celtic green? Is it exciting? Of course not...but they're the mother falcon Celtics. The Rockets are Red.
It's that the Celtics own the Green/White color scheme, while the Rockets arbitrarily picked out a dull red and an uninspired gray (while abandoning their historic red/yellow). Red/gray can work, but it'd have to be on a quality modern design. We dropped our traditional colors for it, and we chose bad shades at that (+ our design is terrible).
I think the Rockets said they wanted to make Red synonymous with the Rockets, like Green is synonymous with the Celtics. I guess they failed, in your estimation?
Well, I would say red is synonymous with the Rockets (but definitely not to the extent green is with the Celtics - partly due to their legacy and partly because there are just more red teams), but we did pretty about as poorly as we could in our use of red with this current set.
I suppose it's a matter of taste. If we have the 30th worst jersey now, than the previous one must be ranked 300th. It was among my least favorite uniforms ever..in any sport..and partly because of the context of its arrival with new colors on the heels of back to back championships. I'm fine with our current unis. If they change, I want them to keep red. I want it to be the dominant color. I'd be great with just going back entirely to the old unis (championship years), but I doubt that will happen at this point.
This. We all have preferences with style, but you can't let your NBA team biases affect how you rate uniforms.
We all hate the current standard Rockets jerseys....but there's a lot that are worse: Utah Golden State (Rockets proved that having a giant logo on front is terrible) Cleveland Milwaukee Minnesota Atlanta Phoenix Sacramento Charlotte All garbage and all need changes.
Some of those are indeed bad (I'd argue against GS - as their logo is classy and clean, while our featured logo was a giant dildo...and Utah's is definitely better than ours), and are worse in presentation/colors/distinctiveness (we're pretty bad in those categories though), but the biggest reason we're ranked last is that we're the only team with the potato-sack cut.
Maybe, but that's more related to the caliber/popularity of star(s) on the team's roster and how invested the city's fans are.
oh wow. sorry for sharing my opionion. i did not know that your opinion is the only correct! i have to apoligize /ironie off i do not like the colors of their uniforms and i do not like the design. so yeah i think this jersey looks horrible
except your original post had nothing to do with the color scheme or design, it said "juck the fazz", so nothing to do with the jersey itself
