Maybe no team should play this season, just whoever David Stern decides he wants to put against each other. I pray he resigns as comminsher and takes the ref Joey Crawford with him. He has ruined so many games{ Crawford} & Stern just brings him back. I guess because the Rockets don't put him on a pedalstool, he and the rest of the NBA just ignore us.

 

If his right, and we some how get the #1 pick and get John Wall will he be our new franchise player remove that pressure from Yao, or do we give it one more try, with Yao Being the main Guy before giving the team to Wall(if we get the 1st pick)....

 

the chances of us not making the playoffs are there, but i have so much confidence in brooks' confidence and potential growth that i think him and scola will make a pretty good combo.

 

i have a feeling we will be making the playoffs. mark it.

 

Yao allowed everyone else to play at the level they did last season, this season will be about finding out who can play well with increased defensive pressure on them. We aren't in the Leastern Conference so getting 50 wins is pretty much impossible. 20 to the tip jar if we get 50 wins with the roster we have right now.

 

yao did help, but you fail to notice we've played well without yao for the past 4 years.

50 wins will be tough b/c all those "IFs" might not happen. but if they do, 50 wins are pretty realistic.

1) brooks WILL improve. that's a given
2) scola will have more impact with yao out and he's not a bad post up player either (very good actually)
3) tracy just be a 20/5/5 guy
4) and everyone else just plays their role and we keep the defensive toughness we always had with or without yao. we'll surprise people.

i'm not sure we'll lose in the first round. it depends on who we play .

but hey, unless we're getting the #1 pick, next year's draft doesn't seem to produce any franchise player either.

 

right and wrong. Rockets may struggle to win one playoff spot and will have better 3pt FG%

 

I still think our effort, defense, and most importantly chemistry will get wins in a long season...


If Tracy returns, he has an abundance of weapons to dish too. I hope we get another scorer though...(aka Rudy F)

 

I still believe in the Rockets. We've been underdogs before and managed.

If we took lakers to game 7 in the post without yao, we should be fine

 

NBA won't be correct on their guess for their #1 on that list.

A few things that NBA is missing from their reasons:
1. Our newly traded David Andersen
2. Newly acquired Trevor Ariza's true skills
3. Yao Ming's and TMac's tardiness from the Rockets roster during seasons


David Andersen is an answer to the double teaming of the inside-outside offensive game that the Rockets carried with Yao Ming on the roster. He is a true offensive player who is also willing to do what it takes to make his defense better. With Shane, Scola, and Hayes fighting alongside him, his defense is going to get better. Not only that, overseas players that arrive at the NBA almost always see an increase in their defensive ability.

Trevor Ariza's skills as a player has been questioned many times. But his chemistry has yet to be tested. He played with teams and players who play one-on-one offense, not team offense. Not only that, with Trevor Ariza, we gained just a little bit of height. His reach is higher than most of the Rockets roster, with a wingspan of 7'2".

Yao Ming has been going tardy for many many seasons. We won 22 games without Yao *in a row*. Our 22nd win on the streak was against the Lakers. The Rockets have been tolerant of Yao's tardiness for a long time. Especially the past 4 seasons. In the past two seasons, TMac has missed a whopping 40% of all regular season games. The Rockets have almost assuredly moved on from the TMac experiment.




I expect the Rockets to make the playoffs. Nothing more, nothing less.

The best thing about the Rockets is the fact that you can't count them out. Nobody would have ever thought we would take Los Angeles to 7 without Yao, or even with Yao. Sure enough we did. We were for the most part counted out against Portland, but what did we do, we beat them in 6. Let them count us out. Let em. We've been counted out before, as we are this year, and we always fought our way through it. In fact, I feel better when we are counted out, because it's obvious that it causes our boys to play harder. So ESPN can count us out if they want, but I still have faith that we will show everyone how much heart this team has. I believe that with this team, anything is possible.
