Clutchfans, let's hear yer theoritizing on this one... why would someone do this? A mysterious Bay Area car crash leaves no victims, only footprints A mysterious car crash in on the San Francisco peninsula Wednesday seemed more like the opening of a David Lynch movie than a routine vehicular accident. The car was apparently traveling along Highway 92 in San Mateo County near a vista point on Skyline Blvd., when it plunged through a guardrail and down the hill. Emergency crews found no sign of any victims beyond some footprints leading away from the crash site. "No one is in the abandoned vehicle. The guardrail is broken, and there are footprints up the hillside," read a tweet from the Cal Fire San Mateo-Santa Cruz unit. << MOAR at the link, including a similarly abandoned car at the same site. >> https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/san-mateo-county-car-crash-vista-point-15925276.php
Dang. this is the best thing to come out of any of the many dumb threads I've started. LOL. Thank you sincerely.
On the serious, I am thinking either stolen car or a lucky SOB survived it and just decided it wasn't worth paying to get his car towed out of the ravine. But you'd think they will eventually find the driver from the plates, VIN, whatever. More exciting would be somebody in debt or half crazy faking their own disappearance.
