Phislamma....

Ummm theres no "mistaking" having the 27th or such ranked D in the NFL. If they had (or have) a great D. What does that make the 27 or so teams in front of them?

Heck. The Skins had the 30th ranked D and that only would put them 3-5 slots behind the Titans. Godfrey is a solid pickup, but the reason the Boys didnt extend an offer was because they didnt feel he had the complete package. Plus Bullock is a rookie who probably will struggle at first in the NFL. The 2 linebackers they lost werent slouches either (Michael Barrow and cant remember the other) So call it a wash at best for the upcoming season as far as LBs go.

Im not discounting the Titans. ESPECIALLY if they pick up Pickens. Pickens changes the whole makeup of their offense immediately. He becomes the game breaker they desperately need to open up running lanes, and a huge downfield threat. Which is an area that needs addressing from their squad.

Moes...Yes, I did make a mistake on the Seahawks. And it doesnt really matter what position Janikowski plays as much as where he was selected. Not to mention he probably has the most leathal leg ever coming out of college. EVER. He had ground to stand on in making a play at a bigger contract. All in all he was selected, what 17th and if the attitude of the Raiders was the same as yours, then they wouldnt of selected him so high.

Diss Jano all u want, but he kicks it regular thru the goal posts off KICKOFFS.

I'm not too worried about the Bucs seeing the RAIDERS RAPED THE BUCS 45-0 last year...

The Raiders are just as talented as the Colts, unfortunely for them, our kicker is better and in the end will be the difference. Bad starting field position will be the Colt's downfall...

Moe, stand proud, it is our year...

27th in Defense is yardage only if I'm not mistaken. Doesn't tell much of a story without some additonal number crunching. Anybody know how we ranked in total points given up? Or how Strong we are in the red zone? That would add to the picture, but regardless of the numbers, I don't know how you can ignore the fact that the Titans broke the rythm of every high powered offense in the NFL. Teams were unfocused against the Titans because we disrupted their game plan. I mean Jacksonville scored 62 points on Miami, and couldn't break twenty against the Titans three times. Rams averaged like 35 points all year and get just 23 and 21. You could argue that our ball control offense had something to do with that, and I'll agree it contributes, but this defense removes structure from every offense. You can feel it as you watch the game. I don't know how you can ignore that intuitive feeling you get from the Titans. It's powerful man!

Here's mine:

AFC EAST: Indy, Jets (wild-card)
AFC Central: Tennesse, Jags (Wild-card)
AFC West: Seattle, Denver (Wild-Card)

NFC East: Dallas, Washington (Wild-Card)
NFC Central: TB
NFC West: Rams, Carolina (Wild-Card), Falcons (wild-Card)

NFC is really tough with good teams (talent-wise) with Minnesota, Greenbay & Chicago missing out.

I like the Jags to make it to the AFC championship game (they will have a slow start w/o Searcy & Boselli) vs the Titans. Titans make a return trip to the SB.

In the NFC I wouldn't be surprised to see Dallas & Washington in the championship game. I like Dallas to continue their recent success vs the Skins.

Eddie George goes nuts in the SB and leads Titans to a win over the Boys.

The Jets have historically given the Titans trouble with Vinny at the helm. If we can avoid the Jets I think the titans have got a chance to return. That's the only team that seems to have our number. And they will be back in full force this year.

The Raiders Special Teams will come through this year . When Janikowski blasts those kickoffs in the back of the end zone it makes other teams have to put 80 yard drives together , if our new-look secondary can hold up against Seattle or Denvers passing game we can go 11-5 and probably make it to the divisionals ,BUT If the offense defense and special teams are all clicking You might see Silver and Black in Tampa Bay 2001

Raiders have had a good team for a while now, but they find ways to screw it up.

If they put it together, they could be quite formidable, but given their performance these past few years, I would say that is a big if.

NEWSFLASH...

Titans just signed Carl Pickens. Guys start redoing your predictions because the Titans just got a whole lot better....

This just made my day.

Carl is a playmaker who has been stuck on a losing team for his entire career. He is the playmaker that the Titans have been lacking. This just adds that much more pressure on the opposing defense. One less person to cram the line and thus creates better rushing options for either Eddie or Steve McNair. Also makes our tight ends that much better. Man this is a huge pick-up for the Titans...

Well when McNair is not throwing he can bust out for a 60 yard rush. Nice option to have as a QB...

Yancy (when healthy) Pickens, Dyson and George with Mcnair at the helm, and that Defense. That is a pretty potent team. Titans will return to the Bowl.

I was thinking 'bout the NFL :

AFC

AFC East : Indianapolis - They are clearly the best team in this division.

AFC Central : Tennessee - Best team, in the toughest division

AFC West : Denver - Terrell. Davis.

Wildcards - Baltimore, Oakland and Jacksonville

NFC

NFC East : Washington - With that much talent, they'd better win their division,

NFC Central : Tampa Bay - Stellar Defense.

NFC West : St. Louis - Who cares who's quarterback? I could be quarterback with this offense.

Wildcards - Dallas, Chicago and Green Bay

Super Bowl : Tennessee 17, Tampa Bay 16. Tennessee wins on a last second Al Del Greco Field Goal.

Is it sad that seeing you guys predict the Colts in the Super Bowl makes me so happy? EVEN THOUGH MOST OF YOU PICK THEM TO LOSE? I guess you take what you can get when you've been losing as much as the Colts have in the past few years. It's our year!

GO HORSE!

******************************************************************************************
For those of you who watched last nights Monday Night Football game. The Titans offense looked awesome. The Titans are known for being a ball control offense. Last night they ran it to perfection. Steve McNair and Neil O'Donnel passed the ball real well. I liked the fact that the offense was spread out. I think 8 different receivers had receptions.

Pickens lost a step? I don't think so?Pickens will do just fine with the Titans. He can flat out jump out of his shoes and grabs balls out of midair. He is a big play clutch receiver.

Moestavern19 is correct in that McNair isn't looking to throw every down. I think the team you were thinking of is the Rams!!! When you have Eddie George as an option you use it!!! George looked like he is ready to have a monster season.

Man how many days until the NFL season starts? Bring it on....

------------------
Titan's fanatic!!!!

It was the first time the Titans sent an offense to the line of scrimmage with Eddie George in the backfield behind McNair to go with Wycheck at tight end and Carl Pickens, Kevin Dyson and Yancey Thigpen at wide receiver.

So many choices, with a full season still ahead.

"I think that might be scary for a defense," Dyson said.

I still stand by my predictions although i like baltimore a lot now. iN THE NFC the rams d will prevent a super bowl appearance and the redskins fa's havent helped and westbrooks out for the year. Bye Bye. The class of the nfc will be left standing: the buccaneers! Alstott/dunn is a stud rb combo and keyshawn will open up many opportunties for green and anthony. As for king, im really impressed with him. He is truly good. The bucs will be the nfc's sb representative over the rams. As for the afc, i still like indy a lot as tennessee looks like they forget how they played last year and jacksonville isnt as tough. Also on the raiders lost, that was a fluke, they wont blow that kind of lead again. Manning is a hall of fame quarterback and their d will improve enough to get them to the big dance. Im still not sold on the raiders but i like the broncos or baltimore to play indy in the afc title game. Later!
