lol. The hilarity of Toycen posting 'fake' in response floored me more than the mountain climbing picture. If this thread doesn't finally prove that Toycen is a joke character creation here on Clutchfans, I don't know what will.
I understand the thrill of these things, they aren't as uncertain as climbing the Himalayas yet it's an excellent way to go out if you do lose your grip. As humans (most of us) we have 4 main limbs and 40 sub limbs, gotta make each one count. Would like to do this in the next couple years, mainly for the amazing view. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZmDhRvvs5Xw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Wow, you'll take the time to pull up those 2 stupid gifs but you won't take the time to read 4 interesting paragraphs. you are definitely going places my friend.
That looks awesome. Per wikipedia they're fixing it up, starting this year, due for completion in 2014.
The Half Dome Regular NW Face is considered a moderate climb for experienced climbers. It consists of 23 pitches and it is not uncommon to free climb the easier pitches. http://www.mountainproject.com/v/california/yosemite_national_park/yosemite_valley/105912416
It was a joke saying this was fake. Everyone claims what I post is fake so, I was making a joke of myself.
1) I'm sure you get a bit more of an adrenaline rush. 2) A lot of the people that do this stuff seem to be "one with nature" and removing as much equipment as possible helps achieve that goal. 3) Bragging rights. 4) It expands on the "Why does a person climb a mountain? Because they can." train of thought. Now you can say "Why does a person climb a mountain with no safety? Because they can."
I guess I should have thought of reasons (1) and (3), they're the most likely. People who do this for the adrenaline rush given being close to death would love it. That's something I'll never understand. Reasons (2) and (4) are less likely. I doubt there's much technology in the equipment used for mountain climbing. You aren't any less one with nature if you use some simple system of ropes and harness. And, I don't question someone who climbs mountains with reasonable safety. I'm sure it's very a fun and rewarding experience, like any outdoor type sport.

what do you expect? education, values, and knowledge are on the fast decline, while degenerates and their practices are on the rise. While it was an innocent post, I'd have to say the number of times I see funny attempts doesn't foreshadow too well for the generation to come.
Probably is there to protect him in case something falls from higher up the mountain. I imagine for these guys, there could be no death more lame than almost scaling a mountain without safety ropes only to be killed by a falling rock. Of course, without the ropes, it would seem that the odds are high that anything that hits them on the head would dislodge them...
