[Movie] Morbius

Made 84 mil. Thats crazy. It will probably make more money than all the oscar movies. People would rather watch a **** comic book movie than an oscar winner.

 

It made 84m internationally. 39m domestically. It might make 80m in it's US theatrical run, probably more like 60-70m now that the nerd frontrunners are done seeing it. The bad reviews are going to be an anchor for it. Sony needs to get their **** together; if this was a groomed and marketed MCU movie it would make 200m easy in the US.

 

Still better than almost all the oscar nominees. Maybe dune might have done better.

 

I don’t care if it isn’t a popular opinion but Will Smith sucks as an audience member.

I’ve heard nothing but bad things about this movie…not surprised it bombed

box office numbers are trash, and it has a 16% on Rotten Tomatoes and just a 70% audience score

my main question for this movie is “Why?”

Who was asking for a Morbius movie? I didn’t even know who the hell this character was

the last Venom movie was bad, and now this

Sony, u really need to stop it.

 

Sony got a little ahead of themselves with the success of Venom. which is an IP that is massively popular. That movie was going to make money regardless of quality.

I had high hopes here but I'm not shocked that it is a bomb. They either needed to team up with Marvel Studios to give it that MCU magic or do a small indie type semi-horror flick that fleshed out the character a bit more.

Can't wait for Kraven the Hunter!

 

Marvel must find Sony so annoying

every time they offer to help, Sony is like “No, mine! I didn’t ask for your help. I got this.”…then they proceed to put out a mediocre-trash film

thank God Sony isn’t the one with Tom Holland’s Spiderman…the character would be an absolute flop

 

Also wanted to note that Marvel Studios has the winning touch. They made an unknown like Shang-Chi a box office hit during the pandemic. It's baffling how Sony won't partner with them when making their Spiderverse movies.

 

Shang was a pretty bad movie too.

 

I know next to nothing about this movie, but the title sounds like a joke. “Morbius” — just sounds funny.

Its like in every suoerhero fight, they always have one building in busy Manhattan under construction.

Is it the same building?

Are there delays because its the only one stupid heros fight at??
