One could also say Trump sowed that seed a little bit when he was taking out full page ads in the New York papers essentially calling for the execution of the innocent Central Park 5. This ad was run shortly after the Central Park rape happened and four black men and one latino man were arrested. A serial rapist confessed years later, and his dna matched that at the scene. Coincidentally, while murder rates started declining in the years after this case, under Michael Bloomberg's mayoral tenure, NYC murders dropped by nearly 50% and police shootings reached an all time low since they started being documented in the 1970's. This is one of many things that prove we have an idiotic, racist, bigot of a President.
