    2 biggest questions for me

with the amount they were paying him, could Morey have acquired RA with just 2 years or 3 years with last year team option?

could Morey have kept Dekker and offered clippers someone else or another pick?

those 2 mistakes caused us to badly miss on Carmelo

    Agree .

But you phrased them as questions ... Then called them mistakes at the end .

What if the answer was no ?

What if we couldn't get Ryan without offering 4years ...surely the Kings would have given him it .

What if LAC says no trade ... You'll just have to sign CP3 as a FA ?

You do what has to be done at the time and apply a reasonable amount of foresight .

What if Tillman nixed the melo deal due to luxury tax implications ?

    I agree , that's unlikely ...

So is the assumption that Morey didn't realize Anderson's salary may prove difficult to move .

I think Anderson underperformed ... If he can find his stroke at home ( decent IF ) then he can be worth his contract .

He was also unusually healthy last year ... As was Gordon ...

A lot of things broke nicely for us last year , some things didn't .

The season is a marathon and the postseason is another monster too .

Not getting melo doesn't kill us ... Just like getting melo didn't assure us of anything .

Let's see how the season plays out. We don't know what we offered and we don't know what the Knicks wanted. I'm intrigued at Melo as a #3 guy but there are reasons to not do "whatever it takes" to get him here.

To be fair, in hindsight the OP was right. After acquiring CP3, the entire team fell apart and this has been one of our worst seasons ever. It turns we miss Dekkar and Montrezl more than we could possibly have imagined.

We probably tried trading RA but no suitor.
I am fine keeping RA, but very concerned with our inside defense coming playoff. For crying out loud, we couldn't stop anybody over 6'6 that can put the ball on the floor and take it to the rack. I thought we should have at least addressed that. Let's wait and see who will sign off the waiver/buyout in a few days.

if that's what you're worried about defensively, thats more of a perimeter defensive issue

At least we have all our picks to trade for a deal this summer and the draft with Ryan Anderson with a better movable deal..

We basically tied for best record in the nba. remember last years projections ? Morey is incredible GM.

Making move just for the sake of it and messing with the chemistry.... that would be playstation 4 nba 2k18 move. Moreys mind already on playstation 5

    1) No. Ryno was offered more by the Kings
    2) The math on the CP3 trade required Dekker. We barely got to the number needed and had to throw Trez in at the last second, not because the Clips wanted him, but because we didn't have enough salary. There was no one else we could put in that trade to replace Dekker's salary.
