And what could be better than a "solid" team!!?? Actually, I don't think he has. We have a number of apparently non complimentary parts. Those that are working best together are likely not starters on most teams in the NBA; Battier, Lowry, and Hayes. A see a collection of contracts and assets, but the starting "team" is not playoff quality. I promise you, the Rockets are not going to the playoffs with Battier, Lowry, and Hayes as starters. You might can beat the lower level teams with this group playing well together, but you won't beat the elite teams. January will make that painfully obvious.
True. Plants are rooted and thus immobile, but the Sun does indeed revolve on its own axis. I just thought it's funny that so many were irked by this one.
Morey has built a solid regular season team that is meant for an early exit in the playoffs. Get real.
Amazing how many people here are happy with average teams that will "sneak" into the playoffs and lose in the first round. The goal is to be a title contender, not one of the many average teams in the league.
Would you also be prepared for maybe 3-5 very bad years in case we make the lottery every year and still don't land a superstar? Or if we're very bad for 2 years and don't land a superstar, but land a couple of solid players who bring us back to mediocrity, then what? Dump them and tank again?
This team did not make the playoff last season, there is a big question mark on whether they could make it this season and you think this is a solid team?
The sun rotates about its axis; the planets revolve around the sun. You guys have been smoking too many plants. Yes, DM has put together a pretty good team, but it's incomplete - we still need to do the part where we trade several assets for really good, maybe all-star players. But it looks good so far.
I really like the direction this team has taken. We could use another big man, but other than that this team is good as is. As a matter of fact, if we could get all of our current players(Pattrson, Williams, Hill, Brooks) on the same page, we have all the team we need now.
I actually think this current team could beat the Heat if they were to play like they have been playing.
Exactly. Look at his moves. They have been targeting bargain players on losing teams. Most of those players outside of Martin was not even the best player from those teams. You get my point. He essembled a team that is currently fighting for a playoff spot far from solid.
Just think how good this team would be if they had a Dikembe Mutombo type 5 patroling the lane, while letting Hayes come off the bench in his natural position as a situational shutdown defender. This team is going to have to turn their defense around to make any noise in the regular season and playoffs. Right now they would be an easy out for the Spurs and Lakers, but if they shore up their defense they would turn into a tough out.
