Halladay is awesome, its sad to see the guy go, but we can't compete with the Yanks or BoSox without top young CHEAP talent. This guy is going to be good in his upper 30's as well, he has such good control of his pitches, hall of famer for sure. I love the fact he gave Toronto a chance to become good, he's a class act all around, wish him luck.

I would not trade Cliff Lee for Roy Halladay.

If you take away the money and age difference, would you still not do it? Halladay is better than Cliff Lee, unfortunately he's played on a dismal Blue Jay team all these years, plus the Canada effect havn't gotten him the notoriety MLB players get in the US.

I read Lee wasn't going to give the Phils a discount while Halladay was willing to sign for less then Santana did with the Mets. I was hoping Phils could get both and setup a rotation for the ages with Lee, Halladay, Happ and Hamels but I'd do Halladay for Lee if you didn't think he wasn't coming back the season after next.

    Done deal.

Lee to the Mariners, Halladay to Phillies.

Mariners are going to be devastating in the playoffs if they can get there.

I would love to see the Mariners get back into the playoffs again. The way that 2001 season ended makes me want some kind of redemption for those guys.

Well they are probably the favorites in the AL West if they can get a bat.

King Felix and Lee will be the dominant pair in the AL along with them picking up Figgins for their lineup makes them serious contenders...I agree, one more bat and they will pass up the Angels to take the AL West.

The Blue Jay GM says that he won't be able to discuss anything until a couple days....Halladay's contract extension plus medical checkups might delay the announcement of the deal.

Money aside why would you take Halladay over Lee after what Lee did in the 2nd half of the season last year?

....because of what Halladay has done over his whole career. Put him on a good team and see what he does for you.......he'll have 25+ wins next years if this goes down.......

Because it probably is a money issue. I don't see any other reason trading for Halladay unless Cliff Lee really wants to get paid.

Praying that the mysterious third team is the Astros.

    Lee
    Oswalt
    Wandy
