Hopefully I will be following the playoffs all the way to the World Series this year... but regardless of how my Reds do I thought it'd be cool to have a thread to discuss!

    Anyone have any predictions?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Phillies swept the Reds :( Hopefully it is more competitive.

    I'm going:

    Phillies > Reds
    Giants > Braves

    Twins > Yankees
    Rays > Rangers

After the Giants clinched last night, they went out in a local neighborhood and hung out drinking beer with fans, high fiving, hooting and hollering. I was not there, so it's not even a cool story bro, but it's verified through a couple of friends. How cool is that?

I really like the players on the Giants right now, but I give them 50/50 of beating the Braves.

Phillies cause Roy Halladay is the best pitcher in baseball plus he was a Blue Jay who gave Toronto a chance unlike some other athletes.

    Hope the Rangers get obliterated.
Wish the Twins luck, always liked that franchise.
Rays are fun to root for.
Yankees blow hope they get demolished, sorry Berkman.

Phillies will roll through the post-season.

I'll be pulling for whoever wins between the Reds and Phils. There are some Houston connections there.

    BILLY HATCHER!

and some backup short stop from the Houston area who played at Rice.

I'm pulling for the Rays this year. Gotta support David Price as a Vandy student, plus they're just fun to root for. I wouldn't mind the Twins winning it all either, they seem like a classy organization. Philly would be alright too, if only for Oswalt's sake. The Phils have a nasty playoff rotation.

I'd be happy with anyone but the Yankees or Phillies. Overall I'm going for the Rays.

I went to a Twins game this past Friday. Nice new ballpark, great fans. Wouldn't mind seeing them win it either.

Unfortunately, I think the Yankees have the best chance this year.

I think we will see a Yankees vs. Phillies World Series and the Yanks will win it in 6 games.

I'll be rooting for the Phillies because ROY HALLADAY DESERVES A RING!!

I'm picking the Phillies to win it all.

I'm not sold the Twins can beat the Yankees without their big bat. I think it will be Tampa Bay and the Phillies in the World Series...

The Phillies have better pitching then the Yankees. Halladay, Oswalt, and Hamel is better then anything the Yankees can throw out. CC is a really good pitcher but that's it. Burnett hasn't been great and I think Andy had some elbow issues again. The only way the Yankees win is by the bat.

The Phillies are clearly the most balanced team on paper. Not much else to be said. They're the team to beat in the NL.

I think the Giants have the best chance of knocking them off because of their SP and improved offense. They were Astros-like last year, offensively. The additions of Posey and all the other guys they brought in over the course of they year has made them more dangerous than one might think when it comes to scoring runs.

The Reds have an amazing offense. I believe they led the NL in wOBA (basically, an enhanced version of OPS). They also have plenty of talent on their pitching staff. I said a few months ago that how well Volquez returned would be key. Well, it looks like he's getting the ball in Game 1. If their pitching doesn't fall apart due to lack of experience in this environment, they will be hard to beat. Cordero needs to be lockdown.

Not sure what to make of the Braves. Hudson and Hanson need to be awesome. They are a very patient hitting club but they can go through dry spells. They lack power compared to the other 3 NL teams but they have a knack for pulling off late comebacks, probably in part due to that patience factor. I don't think they'll get past SF but it wouldn't surprise me much, either.

    Phi over Cin in 4

    SF over Atl in 4

    Phi over SF in 6

I'm not as tuned into the AL so I'll just post some wild guesses:

    TB over Tex in 4

    NY over Min in 4

    TB over NY in 7

WS: TB over Phi in 7

Edit: Doh, forgot that the divisional series are best-of-5. Revised guesses.
