    Ichiro - 36

    2,175 in 10th MLB season

He could easily have 3000 if he started in the MLB

    Hall of Famer?

Jeter and A-Rod get there. I don't think Pudge will. I think Damon has a decent shot, but his health is a concern.

I still think he has a chance at 3,000 here. That dude has a good stick, and could DH later on down the road....

He could conceivably still get there. Even if he doesn't, he's just about a lock for Cooperstown.

For sure.....10 years at over 200 hits per year is incredible. As good of a hitter as he is, I would not count out 3,000.

I saw Mr.3000 on late last night.
    Anyway, not important.....
But in regards to Ichiro, certainly could have 3000 if he came earlier. Good player, in a cool city (Seattle) .......but wasting on a shat team.

Ichiro? He will never be a regular DH. His speed is a large part of what makes him a great hitter, and as long as he has that speed why would you take him out of the OF?

Agreed. Well that, and the fact that he is probably one of the greatest slap hitters to ever play the game. His hand eye coordination is incredible.....

Not to mention I would not ever think about taking him out of the outfield with that laser rocket arm he's rocking.

Jeter and Rodriguez definitely get there.

Ichiro can, but does he have 5 years left at 200/season?

No chance for Pudge, Damon, Chipper, or Manny. I had heard rumors that Chipper retires after this season. It's possible the Pudge walks away, too. Johnny Damon probably won't be an everyday player in the next season or so. Who knows how much longer Manny will play, but probably not long enough to get 450 more hits.

Ichiro can end this year with 2200+ I believe

he's at 2175 with 1 month of baseball left

Can he play 4 more years at 200 hits/yr?

I think he might go for it .... if he's close to it after 2 more years.

He's on pace to end the season at about 2,236. It's really is just a matter of how long he wants to play and if his hitting declines and by how much.

His Japanese numbers plus his MLB should already surpass 3,000.

    I'm not researching.

He's had 3000 since July of '08 when you combine both.

I think if he came into the league at 19 (that's when he started playing in japan) then he would probably have 3500+ by now in the MLB.

Ichiro could've had 4000+ hits if he would've started his career in the MLB.

The only ones who won't get 3000 hits are Manny, Pudge, and Chipper.
