Well basically no one else was going to fulfill that campaign promise, so Trump did. Clinton promised he'd do it, Bush promised he'd do it, Obama promised he'd do it, Trump promised he'd do it....Turmp was the only one that followed through on what he promised to do.

It's odd that none of the people pretending to be upset about this were upset with Obama or Clinton when they promised they'd do it

Have you ever wondered why all the other president have not acted on this with all the expert advisers helping them on this issue? Is it really in the best interest of the United States to do this now?

Because they didn't have the courage to face the backlash for doing what they said they'd do. Doing the right thing isn't always easy and if you are a liar it's much better to just say you'll do it to get people to vote for you then b**** out when it comes time to actually do it.

Of course you are a Trump Derangement Syndrome type, so I understand where you are coming from.

Obama promised he would move the US Embassy to Jerusalem?

    Please provide a link.

FYI I can't find any promises from Clinton that he would move it, only statements that he would "like to".

    So. What.

You see, I don't agree with everything Schumer says or does. So again, what does moving our embassy to Jerusalem accomplish, other than create more dissension in the region and separate the U.S. from every other major country?

To move US embassy to Israel’s capital.

Is this the right thing to do? I
How does that help US interests? I know it helps Israel interests, but Israel interest does not equal to US interests.

US embassies are usually located in a nation's capital. This brings the US embassy in Israel inline with the US's embassy-location interest.

In a 2015 Bloomberg poll, 2/3 of GOP voters said they would “support Israel's interests even when they diverge from America's".
Seems like in this day and age, if you are not hardcore pro Israel than you are anti-Israel and anti christian

And why are we doing that?

There were statements by Obama supporting Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and support for Jerusalem remaining undivided. If those claims were honest, it would only make sense to move the embassy to the capital of a country that is our ally.

With Clinton he said that he wanted to do so.

Basically there was always bipartisan support for Jerusalem being the capital of Israel and the US moving their embassy to Jerusalem.....until Trump actually did it. That's when Trump Derangement Syndrome comes into play.

That is where it should be located.

Usually, not always? And there must have been a reason it was placed elsewhere. So what changed?

Is that not an answer? Moving the embassy to where it should be located, in the capital, is a perfectly valid answer as to why you are doing it.

I answered. You did not like the answer. That does not mean I will give another answer, or a different answer.

Seems like an arbitrary thing to do that carries a lot of negatives with basically zero benefit.

Then again that basically sums up US involvement in the middle east altogether.

Your answer was essentially "cuz". Which really isn't an answer. But sure, if that's what you got, I really don't expect much more...

It is not arbitrary (random) - it is something Trump promised in his campaign speeches. Showing Israel the same kind of respect as we do every other nation has a lot of benefits, and the negatives - which there are not many - are greatly outweighed by the benefits.
