Not all depth is created equal. Especially in MDA system, he has prototypes for every role in his offense. And he values smart vet decisive offensive players who have no fear of shooting, even if their shot not falling. And Rockets are stacked with stone cold killers this season. CP3 - Knight Harden - MCW - Green Butler - Ennis - VE Tucker - Melo - Clark Capela - Bruno - Chriss - Qi - Hartenstein That is some beautiful depth on O and D. Above assuming the Butler - EGo/Nene/pick(s) trade goes through.
How quickly have we forgotten that our second string backcourt was recently Eric Gordon + Lou Williams (i.e. the two most recent 6th man of the year award winners)?
With some molding he can be a great pick up. Its going to take him sometime to get it. But Nene and Capela plus the competition at the center position
I do not claim to know MDA’s mind but assuming no injuries I would place a large wager that the rotatation would be more than 7 deep like it was against GSW in WCF. Aside from starting 5, Rockets have more than just EGo and Green now. Ennis, MCW, Knight, Melo, Bruno and Chriss are more playable/effective vs. GSW than Iso Joe, Nene, Black and Ryno. And I’m not even counting if one of the young guys step up and surprise - Qi, Hartenstein, Clark, Edwards, Gray.
in the past i only watched MCW when he played rockets and every rockets game as much as i remember MCW looked awesome vs us.. i am not surprised morey got him
MCW looked good (for a preseason game). I was very nervous about this pickup but being in a confident, veteran team that’s going to win a ton of games, the pressure will be off him and I hope he does well. Let’s just pump the brakes though. There’s going to be many MCW trademark moments in the season. Hopefully we’re up 30 all the time...
