Why does Memphis want to trade Rudy Gay when he's about to show the world he's on Kevin Durant's level next year.
The Cavs would end up blowing their mega cap space on him but this might make sense because they can take him off Memphis' hands and it would give the Grizzlies room to re-sign those other guys. If the Cavs draft an impact rookie at #4, they will be in the playoffs next year, especially if they keep Varejao. They would just need to add a stiff at C or they could trade Varejao for someone. IMO, Beal won't last until #4.

Delusional trade targets, hmmm. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...lue-to-acquire-their-delusional-trade-targets
It's about the best deal that either team will get unless a high draft choice comes up on the table. I know one thing ... Gay is alot easier to move than Joe Johnson. If the Hawks can pull that off, then it would be nothing short of a miracle. http://hawksquawk.net/community/top...esty-on-joe-johnson-now-or-later/page__st__15
The grizzlies already turned down the iggy for gay trade. Like I said, I'd be extremely surprised if Gay is dealt. Heisley LOVES gay. It's pretty funny to me that talking heads are quick to fleece gay from the grizzlies for peanuts.
Salary cap issue/Luxury tax territory. I wouldn't call Andre Igoudala, peanuts, either. Besides, AI is much closer to Gay than Mr. Gay is to Kevin Durant.
They don't have enough right now to win a championship and they don't have any salary cap flexibility for the next 3 years. So unless they get incredibly lucky in the draft or in a trade they won't get past the 2nd round of the playoffs anytime soon.
