There is plenty we can do about the 2 party system. While the 2 party system is not ideal, the problem is not so much the 2 party system in itself but the corruption that goes on within the parties from Federal, State and District levels. Closed primaries are about the most asinine thing in our voting system. It allows the extremists and most opinionated from each party to put the least represented candidate on the ticket.

Bill Clinton was investigated and impeached by a republican congress for much less - doubt same GOP have suddenly become friendly to the Clinton. If there were any truths to your corruption claims, she would have been prosecuted by republicans to the full extent of the law. The directly affected party is Bernie Sanders who was an independent before joining the democratic party for his presidential ambition. Shouldn't be surprising that the DNC favored their own.
