People complaining about Omer's play last year apparently weren't paying attention. Most of his rate statistics were identical to 2012-13, and we were better defensively with him on the floor despite the presence of Howard. Don't let the narrative get in the way of fact.
and listening to mchale you would think he has literally never done a single negative thing as a coach. indeed at media day he was quick to cite players' bad habits and lack of attention to detail for our playoffs fiasco. while our resident clutch, in his may 5th post postseason writeup wrote: There’s no doubt about it, Kevin McHale looked lost at times in this series. He didn’t make series-altering adjustments until Game 3. His team seemed unprepared in big moments. Ultimately, the Rockets underachieved and fell short of expectations. i think if mchale would ever start acknowledging his mistakes/weaknesses as a coach in the first step to tackling them, then perhaps his critics would cut him more slack. but with 3 consecutive years of 3 consecutive end-of-season meltdowns with 3 entirely different rosters under his belt here (and no indication of anything magically changing anytime soon)…..you can't really blame people for losing patience with him at this point.
What ever happened to the Chris Finch thing? Fire Clyde and designate milk hair as his replacement. End world poverty and cure all illnesses.
Already with the Jabs McHale? Morey needs to be looking for a new coach now, he already has a built in excuse.
i probably think that mchale blaming his players at the end of every season's F-ups no matter who those players are -- is cute. he must be a really unfortunate coach to keep getting all these bad players who can't execute his flawless gameplanz.
Joke of a coach and disgrace to the Rockets history of great coaches. Already has a boatload of excuses made up and yet has vacuum between the ears when it comes to coaching or tactics. Always pointing fingers while ignoring the fact he is the number 1 reason for the Rockets bombing out of the 1st round last season. Can't wait to see this inept clown leave the Rockets
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...empty-gregg-popovich-erik-spoelstra/17322409/ Houston Rockets: Kevin McHale is a coach on an expiring contract leading a team that may have unrealistic expectations. Recipe for disaster, right? Not exactly, but his situation is worth watching. If the James Harden-Dwight Howard Rockets aren't contending for a top spot in the Western Conference and looking like a team that can make some noise in the playoffs, McHale may be the first to raise his hand and say a change should be made. He's in it to win it, as they say, and the fact that he has no new deal beyond this coming season isn't seen as a point of contention. Don't hold your breath on a change coming, though, as the Rockets will be formidable even without Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Lin or Omer Asik around anymore.
no roster stability. 1 team without a star. none better than the wesley, barry, & jho line up surrounding yao & t-mac. if anything it's on morey. two seasons wasted with that decision to take lin over dragic.
One thing I guarantee - next to nobody will miss McHale for his coaching or lack thereof once he is gone. Soon!!!
Bwhahaha there is nothing wrong with speaking the truth. Hopefully Dorsey and Black can be serviceable big men this season. Asik defense and rebounding will be missed indeed.
