This is the biggest issue IMO. It's an entire movie about a dead character to set up a new storyline at the very end, and continuing on with some Easter eggs from the shows... right. I did enjoy the movie, but still
This post makes me feel a lot better about taking my boys to see it tonight in 3D. I read the spoiler, would be cool if you’re right with the first possibility.
It may be down the road. They introduce some concepts, characters and plotlines for the MCU to build on. But if you're on the fence, you can probably wait for it to hit streaming or just go to a matinee when it's less crowded, because it is a big popcorn flick with explosions and punches.
Just watched it at District Theatre. Really enjoyed it. Some of the close ups on her ass seemed unnecessary.
Solid B for me. I got attached to the characters over the years. So, seeing Natasha’s background and why she is who she is was cool for me. I didn’t need a ton of non stop action, the feel and emotion of the movie made me enjoy it. I have no problem with how they are linking the past with the future, even if it basically takes until the end of the film to do so.
I agree with this. Too much action. Dark Knight is still #1 for me and it wasn't heavy on action (which people complained about), it was heavy on suspense. I didn't love the movie. I didn't hate it. I'd put it slightly above the 1st Captain America movie. Can they not just find Russian actors? Chernobyl series suffered from the same problem (English actors, wtf?)? Just cast Russians. It's clear Black Widow can/could carry her own franchise, but I'd like to see less action, more depth and suspense, and an R rating. As far as backstory, she's basically the current MCU Avenger's Wolverine.
C+ for me. Thought it was saved by the characters and a decent story. How many crazy bases/secret lairs exist in this marvel universe?
Watched the movie last night and was fairly entertained. I'd give it a B- or C+. David Harbour's character was the best thing in the movie. Dude was hilarious. Pugh's deadpanned jokes were great too. Agreed with Stuckman's review about the script being not so great. Some little things didn't make a great deal of sense or bothered me... which I attributed to bad writing. A couple things confused me since its been awhile since I watched Civil War, such as: Spoiler "The dude hunting down Scarlett at the begginning was? Was he the calvary? And how did she get away or resolve the issue when they arrived? Lastly who was she rescuing from prison at the end of the movie?"
General/Senator Ross (Hulk's Wife's father in the comics). This movie takes place after Cap 3, and anyone who was on team Cap gets outlawed. She's going to break out the rest of the people who got locked up. Good point, how did she get away? Why didn't she just leave with the rest of the Red Room folks? Head-scratcher.
