The best Wolverine story I've come across as of late is Wolverine: Old Man Logan.

    Incestuous Hulks FTW!

I read a few of the comics from Age of Apocalypse when it first came out. Seems like it's universally accepted as awesome. I'll check it out. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.

Based on who you like, I'm telling you, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't read Age of Apocalypse. It is the pinnacle of the Marvel Universe in my opinion.

Oh and if you read some DC stuff, read the Kingdom Come line.

The problem with Wolverine stories is Wolverine is best written as a supporting characters. Not in a lead role. The best Wolverine stuff isn't Wolverine stuff...

Have you read Wolverine: Enemy of the State? It's by Mark Millar, who did the one I recommended earlier.

I've read and enjoyed a lot of Spider-Man, Captain America, Hulk, Daredevil, Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four. But, by and large, "Make Mine DC."

And my top recommended contemporary superhero story is Identity Crisis by Brad Meltzer and Rags Morales.

Wow. 'What Marvel should I read with unlimited back issues'...

That's a loaded question. I'll have to sleep on it.

I can say this, though. Marvel's recent stuff absolutely sucks, beginning with the whole Civil War BS. Their insistence on having some summer crossover every year just to sell books is annoying as hell.

DC definitely has had more consistently good storylines imo. I also dig that a lot of their heroes are not so superpowered (though Superman certainly is the exception lol)

I quit reading comics years ago. The last gasp of Marvel for me was Onslaught. After that I just didn't care really.

DC has a lot of cool stuff. Kingdom Come, Parallax, etc.

Image was awesome back in THE day. I can't remember what the arc was called, but involved Prophet, Crypt, the Newborn, the Devil (or some demo) etc. and it was awesome.

I also really like the early version of the Stormwatch comics.

So after browsing through some pretty mediocre comics on the digital list, I've came across a couple decent ones.

Agent X - Manga inspired slapstick imo. Pretty good for what it is.

1602 - Pretty cool alternate universe story

Exiles - They have most of them, Exiles is good

Runaways - Liked it better when I was in college (5 years ago), imo the series progressed too slowy and
Alex Wilder needs to be back now !!!
