Apparently Hartenstein already beat out everyone else for the backup C spot, I'm really excited to see him if thats true. I'd love to see if this

has any bearing in real games.

I think it’s unlikely, but Tilman threw down the gauntlet a couple weeks ago and essentially said it’s championship or bust in 2 years. If Chriss can be a quality contributor, having him on a rookie contract is invaluable in 19-20. After that it might be time to blow it up. I think that gives his option extra gravity.

Chriss made some mistakes , fumbled some passes , and made some athletic plays .

He look OK . I think his "success" will be governed by how comfortable he can get with James and CP throwing him dimes .... and he needs to catch them .

He probably won't play much . We will probably play hartenstein over him and then elect to go small before playing him . He can get some minutes in blowouts or if Clint is hurt / hartenstein doesn't do well .

Rockets should pick up his 4th year option. This is just the beginning. His development will grow leaps and bounds here compared to the Suns.

    I'm excited! Go Rockets!

I think the likelihood that we guarantee Chriss' next season @ $5.5m based on his play in preseason is very very very low. Hartenstein seems to have already outplayed him in camp, which hurts his chances - even given Hartenstein was more familiar with the system. If he had a couple of regular season months to show what he can do I would view it differently, but as it stands I think he would have to have a monstrous remaining preseason and practices.

He fits us perfectly... but boy is he RAW!

He just needs to keep working and slowly but surly he is going to be a piece for us moving forward. And sky rocket his value.

What tweets am I basing this on? I didn't refer to a tweet.

It's just not in line with the Rockets risk profile and current position i.e. you don't necessarily need a 48-minute vertical threat to win an NBA title, and Chriss is not the only vertical threat on this roster or available next summer.

He did good considering he has only been with the team for what, 2 months? When I saw him participating in organized team gatherings I was already impressed.

I’m very skeptical of him. I liked what I saw from Bruno a lot more.
Something about Chriss makes me think Terrence Jones all over again

I think Clutch hit it on the head in his write-up; Chriss looked alright but his biggest avalue to us is probably as a...well a trade asset. All it takes is one team to buy into his potential from what they see here and qe can flip him for something that may down the line (Dec-Feb) we may be able to flip for a veteran wing player. Imagine if we could flip him fit a young player or high second rounder and than flip that and Zhou or Knight for a guy like Bazemore.

    Risk profile?

What is the risk of keeping Chriss?

Mike D said on all access that is what they see as the potential of having Chris's on the team is his ability to do the same things as Capella, who else can be the log threat that they are?

What are the chances of getting an athletic serviceable center for under 5 million bucks? You have to remember the MLE is worth 9 million dollars. I think if he looks serviceable in the preseason, you pick up the option on the 4th year.

Bazemore sucks donkey's azz, man. Morey avoided a 2nd big mistake (the first was Ryan Anderson) when he turned us down.
