Man strangles woman for not getting mayo on his sandwich.

    LUDLOW - Police charged a 29-year-old Wilson Street man with attempting to strangle a 21-year old Chicopee woman who picked up a chicken sandwich for him from a fast food restaurant. The man was angry that the sandwich did not have mayonnaise, police said.

    "They forgot the mayonnaise," Police Sergeant Daniel Valadas said.

    Police withheld the man's identity to protect the identity of the victim.

    The man told the woman to get out the mayonnaise from his refrigerator, Valadas said. He pushed the woman and grabbed her by the neck, pushing her into the wall and proceeding to strangle her, according to police.

    "He put her into a choke hold, and they both fell to the ground," Valadas said. "She bit his finger."

    The woman was able to contact a friend when she got her phone back after the bite, according to police, and later walked into the police station where police saw red marks around her neck.

    Patrolman Stephen Sambor stopped the assailant the next day as he was driving on Chapin Street. He was charged with domestic assault and battery, intimidation of a witness and strangulation or suffocation.

    Last week someone was stabbed over fried chicken and now someone tried to strangle a person over lack of mayo on a chicken sandwich.

    We need to implement background checks and psych evaluations before purchasing any chicken related foods.

    I bet if those people were eating fried fish last week that person wouldn't have gotten stabbed and this lady wouldn't have been strangled if that was a fish sandwich.

    There's a segment of the population who go apecrap when it comes to sauce on their sandwich. They are the reason why most places charge for extra sauces now. I've had idiots who try to get a full refund on a sandwich because they felt there wasn't enough sauce to their liking.
