I think you've pretty much nailed one of the problems with the lineups. Daniels should be one of your top 2 options when he is. I'd like to see Daniels get minutes with a more defensive minded lineup. That way he allows the defensive minded lineup to space the floor, since Portland can't really help off of him.

I'm thinking this lineup could be great:

PG Bev
SG Daniels
SF Garcia
PF Asik
C Howard

That lineup right there would be formidable defensively, you would still have 3 point firepower on the court, and the spacing should work out to where you could run PnR with either Bev or Daniels.
