they'll like him next year after a few clutch 3's. it's basically the syndrome of getting excited about the draft only to have that stamped out by a known quantity. I think it was a pretty good move for Minny. They need shooters!

Also Bud is a much more solid pickup than an unknown in the draft. Lots of busts everywhere. Especially in the those mid-range 1st rounders. Remember Marcus "Carmelo" Morris? Yeah, that never happened.

It's known as the "Shane Battier Syndrome".

I think it was just a chicken move. There are clearly players in the draft who will go at 18 or later who will be better NBA players than Bud. Minny just isn't sure they know which ones.

They needed a shooter like him. The 18th pick may have been a little much, but I'm not complaining.

Royce White, Sullinger, or Terrence Jones would be a good pickup. It's a really deep draft this year.

Don't worry...DaDakota has got this ... he's registered at the Minny fan sites this morning to defend Bud and is already approaching 500 posts as we speak.

    They did overpay for him.

But on the other hand, Bud know's Rick's offense and the T-Wolves really needed a lights out shooter.

For Kahn, who could not even pick right for top 5 picks, #18 is even worse than a 2nd round pick because of the salary.

    They should be happy.

all of those guy could end up as busts (not saying they will, but they could). Bud is probably worth a mid-1st rounder based on last year's play. He averaged almost 10 points in 22 minutes or something like that and shot a high percentage. Plus, he knows Adelman's system.

Minny is playoff-bound next year, so they need shooters and veterans; not more rookies. I think it makes a lot of sense.

This is the SHane Battier trade effect, people imagine all kinds of kooky scenarios and would rather get the unknown commodity over the known. However Twolves haven't made the playoffs in ages, C-bud would fit in nicely with RUbio and Love and could help them reach the playoffs. Dude's actually talented enough to be a star, he just lacks aggressiveness.

True! At least we got the best of the deal since we got bud as a 2nd rounder and had him play 2 great years for us.

LOL just realized three other posters posted the same thing. I guess the SHane Battier trade turned us all into pop psychologists.

At least it isn't a top 10 pick.
