Twice-impeached Former President Donald Trump, the only POTUS not able win an election based on popular votes,

has been indicted in the special counsel’s classified documents probe ,

Trump has been charged with seven counts in the indictment, according to another source familiar with the matter.

The former president wrote on Truth Social that he had been informed by the Justice Department he was indicted and that he was “summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM.”

While Trump has been spinning that he is being targeted because he is running for POTUS, the opposite is true.

He is running for POTUS to avoid being indicted and going to jail.

they asked him several times to return all the documents and gave him many months to do so, but he refused to comply so here we are

now he will cry victim over a situation he himself created

this will be a good opportunity to grift tho…”free Trump” T-shirts for $99 will be selling like hot cakes

I'm no Trump fan, but I am concerned about the appearance of governments weaponizing the justice system against their political opponents.

i can agree with you it's been stated that if he does win which he won't he would be able to pardon himself of any and all charges.

Except that a society that values the rule of law shouldn’t we just ignore then the mountains of evidence of wrongdoing just because someone is running for office?

It was none of other that Trump himself who made “Lock her Up!” And “Biden crime Family’” a rallying cry. It’s a Republican House that is currently investigating Hunter Biden and I have no idea how many Benghazi, Fast and Furious investigations they had before.

I've been concerned about the appearance of impunity that not indicting him was creating.

Given that indictments are coming from prosecutors in an independent counsel office, a New York state office and soon a Georgia state office, none of which answer to the president, I'm going to chalk about the concern about weaponization to mere rationalization.

No reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.

If true, Trump’s lawyers will have this case thrown out in no time. And we will never hear the end of it.

Federal prosecutors only bring cases that they know they can win. We will see.

If this is the precedent, the documents that president trump and senator biden held onto could result in them spending their last days in federal prison.

There have been prosecutions and convictions for holding classified documents when not allowed to.

The DOJ even had a special prosecutor look into Biden’s holding of classified material. There was the possibility if Biden hadn’t cooperated of him being prosecuted. Instead Biden fully cooperated rather than obfuscate like Trump did.

And so should Pence but he and Biden cooperated rather than misled.
