    Ha. :cool: Because someone made the "713" tag a while back in the "281 vs. 713" threads, but now if it's in a quoted story, it gets added as a keyword.

    Can't tell if SRS or just trolling. :(

    ^ What is he stealing? His net worth is from the sale of his books.
    Don't know what that has to do with the heist, but... you might be right.

    Here's the list and he's not even in there: http://www.nytimes.com/best-sellers-books/combined-print-and-e-book-fiction/list.html

    How much money does he make? Read the section about "book" here:

    If you went to my house (I know, it's a far-fetched idea), and after you were feeling down or depressed or even close to "NGAF" and I treated you well, spoke to you about good things and helped you to do well for yourself and others, and you came out a refreshed human being, and felt better about yourself, you'd probably want to give me something (maybe a beer, or two, not even money) to thank me, too. :cool:

    Hopefully we have a modern day Robin hood on our hands.. not a maniacal church thief.. But it's probably the latter.

    I would say that the Robin Hood you think exists would steal from "the rich" and that would be someone who doesn't speak The Word and is so egotistical and selfish that they wouldn't make donations to the hungry and the poor. Osteen Ministries is no such "the rich", they give to the needy and employ lots of people who benefit from their donations.

    Envy and jealousy aren't good things to feel or have, people. :eek:

    They probably share what they spend their money on with church members in an annual church meeting, and on request. They don't put it on their website, probably because they have critics who would find something in it to complain about.

    But they do a ton of stuff. Ministries for members, for Houston, and evangelical missions around the world. I'm not a big fan of the church, and it could be argued that they're spending a bunch of money on spreading an empty theology, but they are definitely doing a lot of work with their $80m that their church membership wants done. Of all the things to criticize them for, the size of their budget isn't one.

    I'm not in lockstep with Joel Osteen on the Gospel..but here's what I know:

    1. After Tropical Storm Allison, their church answered the call big time. A huge pool of volunteers that helped clean out flooded homes and help people in a time of real need. They sunk time and money into helping the community;

    2. Joel's approach is that God loves without condition. On that point, he and I agree...even if we might disagree on other things. If he's out preaching that God is about love and how we love other people, then I'm good with it.
