5 of the Top 9 Free agents are all former ROckets. LOL Shumpert Faried Lin Ryno Melo even Nene made it to the list of top FA left!!! Why aren't we signing our top FA"?"- Clutchfans.com overreaction
Shumpert's value is in a S&T only... and since tilman probably won't pay tax ever I doubt that trade is going to happen. we do need some bench support. rivers is proven, but house was successful for a small sample size and then did not crack the playoff rotation, and chandler plays in only half the games. Sefolosha and Jerebko could be great regular season depth. they probably want a guaranteed deal, even if its for the minimum, and guaranteed minutes. not sure the rockets are willing to do either but they could/should.
Former Rockets 1st round pick, Samuel Dekker.....didn't get any takers in the NBA this offseason. cc @Clutch
Na his 3 was inconsistent n he didnt really have a position to succeed at. To small to be a pf, to slow to be any other position
It's time to get some SF/PF depth. I'm trying to find out if either of these players has a contract but I'm having trouble. Jonathan Simmons - vet, previously good defender, 29 Alex Poythress - young (25), some 3 point promise, good defender I like Alex a lot if he's available. Plays PF!
this is the trouble with drafting someone who can do a little of everything. none of their skills are elite enough for the nba. you need to draft someone (even in the second round) who has at least 1 elite skill. potential to develop other elite skills is a plus but not something to bank on. dekker was drafted the year everyone wanted (and the rockets were rumored to love) Tyus Jones. but Dekker was seen as a late lotto pick who "slipped" to 18 and jones was a mid-late FRP. it wouldn't have hurt to trade down to pick up jones and get extra compensation as well .

Wasting Knight’s huge expiring salary to let Shumpert walk for nothing would truly be as moronic as it gets. Hope it doesn’t happen.
In addition to above Amir Johnson (if they can get him at the minimum) as a vet with playoff experience who can play both PF and C might be another intriguing player that can help the Rockets. He has hit the occasional 3 though he does not shoot those often at all. Unless MDA decides to play Hartenstein more the Rockets are thin at PF and C positions.
