Harden post ups? At least this season, it seemed like not much of a successful play. He has zero creativity in his post up game and just backs his defender down and hopes for the best.
Well, I see you are moving the goal post for JayGoogle because he actually explicitly stated that Harden is a better pg than Lillard.
The great point guards like Magic, Nash, Kidd and even today's Westbrook were/are all very turnover prone. The only reason they - besides Westbrook - didn't surpass Harden's numbers is because they usually played only one role, which is to play a PG. Because you don't have as many possessions as the guy playing PG AND #1 scoring option, you commit less turnovers in total, but per possession Harden is not even close to being worst.
Per possesion, Nash, Magic and Westbrook dished out far more assists for every turnover they created. If Harden dished out 10+ assists on 4.7 turnovers, I would have less qualms with his turnovers but a 7.5/4.7 assist to turnover ratio has never been considered a turnover ratio of an excellent pg. And let's not ignore that Westbrook and Lillard have dual responsibility like Harden as both of them score at a high volume also. Lillard leads his team in scoring also.
To be fair, Lillard's willingness to share the ball allowed for McCollum's improvement. Last year, DMo established himself as one of the best post players in the league. And how did we use him this year? We largely ignored him in the post and used him as a ball-moving stretch 4.
Because they are historically good PGs and Harden is not. What's your point? Harden is not supposed to play the PG role. Period. That's out of his purview and job description. Wade had worse turnover ratio than Harden in multiple seasons, do you hold Wade to the same standard?
Okay?? But my assertion was against JayGoogle who stated that Harden is a better pg than Lillard. You might not be making that claim, but he was.
no. It's because Mccollum turned out to be so good that Lillard was forced to share the ball, which he actually didn't, because Lillard is one of the biggest ball-hogs in the league based on several metrics.
Lillard is Portland's franchise player who just signed a $120mm contract. Like Harden, he has the ultimate green light. No one can "force" him to do anything he doesn't want to do.
one made the all star team the other didn't....one was the team USA captain that led them to the gold medal and the other didn't even make the team....How the hell is this even a discussion
no he doesn't. any player is forced to share the ball when his teammates are playing great, and if he doesn't he will be crucified by the media and the fans. and again, Lillard didn't share the ball at all. He led the entire league in the average time of possession (8.4 minutes per game)
and somehow managed to have less PPG, APG, SPG, FG%, TS%, PER, WS, WS/48, RPM, BPM, Ortg, Drtg, Net Rating, VORP than Harden.
I would love Kyle Lowry on our team along with Harden. This might surprise you but I'm all for keeping Harden if he changes his attitude and is delegated to a lesser role. If Lowry was on this team, I would delegate him to the primary ball handler and play maker while Harden as the primary go to scorer. This team would be amazingly more efficient.
so Toronto fans must be praising Kyle Lowry's performance because he was the reason the team won, right?
