Have you really encountered a lot of instances where non-English speaking people are angry because they don't speak it? Because I haven't. For the above to really apply, there has to exist some sort of disrespect for the idea of learning the language/necessity of being able to speak it.

I just personally have hardly ever seen this if it comes to Spanish speakers. Most often it is meekness, an apologetic attitude, and patience as they try to get their point across.

Having said that, I agree that speaking the language should be a primary focus. However, not speaking it can't just be attributed to being 'lazy' or not caring; I'd imagine that's a little too broad a generalization and there may be more possiblities than that.

    Guys,

Whether you're for or against illegal immigrants crossing the border from Mexico (I see quiet a few of you are for it, at least from what I have read so far), the REAL issue here is about money, pure and simple.

Like it or not, illegal immigrants are absolutely a huge burden on the taxpayers in this country, and it DOES affect every aspect of our lives. To claim that it doesn't is rediculous and untrue.

I don't care that there are illegals in America, I just think that they need to carry their own weight and stop being a drag on everyone else. So money is the biggest issue here as far as I am concerned. I understand that some others are concerned about 'cultural' influence and the such, but I think it's mostly about money more than anything else.

The status quo is not a choice?

My solution is simple. Legalize all the illegals that are not otherwise criminals, and then eliminate minimum wage laws (and yes, there are illegals making less than minimum wage.). If the only difference is in the classification of some people, the effects should be minimal. You cannot legalize all of the illegals and make the companies that pay them raise their wages to the same level as everyone else, it would be disasterous.

Lyle Lanley: Well, sir, there's nothing on earth
    Like a genuine,
    Bona fide,
    Electrified,
    Six-car
    Monorail!
    What'd I say?

    Ned Flanders: Monorail!

    Lyle Lanley: What's it called?

    Patty+Selma: Monorail!

    Lyle Lanley: That's right! Monorail!

[crowd chants `Monorail' softly and rhythmically]

Miss Hoover: I hear those things are awfully loud...

Lyle Lanley: It glides as softly as a cloud.

Apu: Is there a chance the track could bend?

Lyle Lanley: Not on your life, my Hindu friend.

Barney: What about us brain-dead slobs?

Lyle Lanley: You'll be given cushy jobs.

Abe: Were you sent here by the devil?

Lyle Lanley: No, good sir, I'm on the level.

Wiggum: The ring came off my pudding can.

Lyle Lanley: Take my pen knife, my good man.

    I swear it's Springfield's only choice...
Throw up your hands and raise your voice!

    All: Monorail!

    Lyle Lanley: What's it called?

    All: Monorail!

    Lyle Lanley: Once again...

    All: Monorail!

Marge: But Main Street's still all cracked and broken...

Bart: Sorry, Mom, the mob has spoken!

    All: Monorail!
    Monorail!
    Monorail!

    [big finish]

    Monorail!

That's pretty much the damn point. Like Aces breaks the law, all the time, so do immigrants looking for a better life.

So, Aces thinks that 'ghetto-ization' and crime are the result of immigration.

It is also, apparently, quite a chore for him to - dear God - be forced to 'tolerate' other human beings. I'm pretty sure you can find of plenty legal Americans that you hate having to 'tolerate' also.

Hell, I've seen your threads that tell me as much.

There are plenty of real issues with immigration. None of yours seem to be. They are, instead, a reflection of your own mindset and personality.

You live in a weird dream world.

If it was a pure money matter, non-business conservatives would not oppose amnesty.

Instead, they'd rather enact costly infrastructure programs such as increased border security with focus on illegals (terrorists and drugs are bonuses), increased legislation with criminal penalties, expensive expulsion initiatives, and a 11 figure wall program.
