I'm sure similar things would have been said if they compared Magic vs. Bird to Wilt vs. Russell in the 80's. It's all relative. These two offer the best match-up possible for our era, enjoy for what it is. It's very possible that these two rank right up there wilt the Bird, Johnson, Wilt, Russell, when all is said and done.

Good for media hype, but not the real issue in this series. More of a young team vs. a relatively old team. More team talent against team talent than superstar against superstar. At least that is the way I see it. Should be a great series to watch. I think the Thunder are capable of a sweep, but I am hoping for seven games. Teams get hot and then they are not, like the Spurs. You never know till they take the floor. There will be loads of first rate talent out there tonight, but the team that "plays" the best game by game is the winner.

 

Magic and Bird faced each other in college then brought the rivalry to the NBA.

It's more of a fans favorite matchup then a real rivalry.
