DD Kon is also an excellent passer and ball handler. He’s an incredibly versatile player with more size. He can do pretty much everything Reed can do, and more, including running the point. He just doesnt have to because of LaMelo. But even then I’ve seen them run the offense through Kon at the end of games. He’s only 20 yrs old.

But hey, I hope u are right.

CHO should go all in on Kon and trade Ball, who will net them good pieces.

Kon’s size, no fear and ability to get into the lane easily (due to threat the shoot and sound dribbling), with a middie and finishing package already … all that has him marked as a superstar playmaker to be. He’s just yet be given those reigns due to Flagg at Duke and now Ball.

It’s like how Harden wasn’t given the Usage reigns early, too. If I’m Kon, I’m spending the summer training to be The System.

and when Flagg missed those games at the end of the season last yr I was so impressed with Kon running point. He really showed us he’s way more than a shooting guard.

Yeah, I’ve been impressed by his passing ability and dribbling. But mostly his “It” quality. Or as some say “The Dude” :D

we’re surely the only fan base that would make this comparison

Exactly. If the same question is asked on any general NBA fan forum you will get laughed at.

While Reed takes slightly more pull ups, Kon has definitely been the better pull up shooter. Reed takes 2.3 pull up 3’s and makes 36.8%. Knueppel takes 1.9 attempts and makes 43.8%.

Circumstances matter though. I’m sure if they swapped teams, Knueppel would shoot worse and Reed would shoot better. On our team there is no reason to ever leave a decent shooter open and shooters can be guarded closely since we clog our own paint anyway. On the Hornets, there are multiple shooting threats on the floor and lots of pace/movement.

Kon has unquestionably flashed higher at this point but I don’t think Reed is totally out of this race yet until I see him with a little more muscle. Both very fun players.

Id like to see what kind of damage the following lineup could do:

    PG - Reed Sheppard
    SG - Luka Doncic
    SF - Lauri Markannen
    PF - Alperen Sengun
    ..C - Nikola Jokic

    Bench:
    SG - Austin Reeves
    SF - Kon Knueppel
    PF - Franz Wagner

    Tough to beat that crew.

When they both played in the Rising Stars game this season, Reed balled out and Kon was a no-show. That's all you need to know.

It's way closer than you think and Bird was 3 years older his rookie season.

Do you think they'd trade us K- nipple for Amen? I hear Amen is LeBron James and Giannis at the same time.... so would the Hornets do it?

Now this would be must see tv -- similar to the World Baseball Classic. Team European ancestry vs Team African ancestry. Giannis probably lands on Team Africa, after some debate. Wemby lands on Team Europe (mom + upbringing).

    Team European Ancestry

    Luka Doncic
    Kon Knueppel
    Lauri Markannen
    Nicola Jokic
    Victor Wembanyama

    Bench:
    Austin Reaves
    Reed Sheppard
    Alperen Sengun
    Franz Wagner
    Chet Holmgren

    Team African Ancestry
    Shai Gilgeous Alexander
    Anthony Edwards
    Kawhi Leonard
    Giannis Antetokounmpo
    Joel Embiid

    Bench:
    Steph Curry
    Lebron
    Kevin Durant
    Donovan Mitchell
    Anthony Davis

Can't really do it that way. The vast majority of black people in America have at least some European ancestry.

National origin is really the only way to do it.

If Stone pulled that off, we'd actually probably have to admit he's one of the best GMs in the league. No team in their right mind would trade a generational shooter for a generationally bad shooting defensive specialist. It'd be even crazier than trading the real Kevin Durant for Jalen Bust.

I don’t know, being that Charlotte has been one of the dumbest organizations in the NBA since their inception so they may not.

Here’s a prime example of why Knueppel’s archetype comparison is to superstar perimeter players who are big. Reed doesn’t fit that comparison

this is Mobley he’s turning around. That’s Luka shiit. Reed is too small for that

Watch more of Kon’s middie and finishing game.
    • Elite leftie finishes.
    • Fade-aways.
    • Floaters.
    • No fear
    • Own pace
    • Vision for passing
    • Overall — the “It” factor
It’s an impressive package … and that’s all setup by his super-elite shooting giving him the lane at ease

Prime example of his playmaking vision

That’s Giannis he’s driving into. With Kuzma behind him
    No fear
    Own pace
    Collapsing D

    blind corner pass

Could rookie PG13 do that? Can Kawhi even do that now?
