The team Kobe was playing against looked like I could star on there, and I definitely suck. I'm sure it was all in good fun, the guy with the long pony tail didn't even look interested in trying to protect the ball when Kobe was trying to get the ball from him.

It's a charity game. People came and paid money to see Kobe do flashy stuff, not to watch Kobe pass the ball to scrubs. No problem whatsoever with this.
It looked more like the players were actively trying to help make Kobe look good. That's probably exactly what the case was.
