In a complete vaccum, knowing Capela would get hurt then maybe yes.

But even with as well as Westbrook has played, a traditional team with Paul and whatever we could have gotten with all those picks is still better, and IMO would be the favorite to win a title right now. Hell, with all those picks we probably could have gotten Covington without giving up Capela. With the Warriors off the table, Capela would be a weapon throughout the postseason. Paul-Harden-Covington-Tucker-Capela is the best team in the NBA, 2 way dominance.

However, our owner would never have allowed that kind of spending, even if it meant fielding the best team.

That would have been a devastating starting 5 for sure with the Paul we're seeing this season.

This game means nothing for the Rockets or Russ as this team isn't built around only WB.

When this topic comes up people tend to forget that Harden (the unquestioned leader of the team) no longer wanted CP on the squad.

Considering the contracts involved I really think the Rockets did the best that they could do.

I hate giving up the 2 first rd picks but that kinda let's you know who had all the leverage in the deal.

Harden and CP3 have very different philosophies, are both ball dominant, and couldn't work it out. Unfortunately it wouldn't have worked out after two loses to GSW in the playoffs.

false. he still wanted cp3 on the team. it was tilman who ultimately panicked and made the executive decision. people keep overlooking how he wanted to add butler/wb to the core of him and cp3.

people keep saying harden didnt want cp3 here, only to make themselves feel better but the fact of the matter is he still wanted cp3 here

Don't kid yourself. If Harden really wanted CP here he would be here. If Harden didn't approve the move it never happens.

actually it's you who shouldn't kid themselves and need to learn how to get your information correct. I've followed this from day 1 and everything thats gone on. it's the casuals who like to randomly talk and put out inaccurate information

Tilman isn't going to give af if harden approves or not. Anyone who knows Tilman would understand that and how he operates his business. why do you think this teams future is pretty much trash. It's publicly documented tilman was the one who pushed the final decision

He didn't give af that Morey had reservations about giving up cp3/picks to overpay for a guy who isn't an ideal fit. He didn't give af that he's the opposite of an MDA system player at pg. Tilman is going to make his decision regardless. The idea that Tilman's at Harden's mercy is laughable. It's quite the opposite and I feel for Harden

Lol after the Clint trade was they built this team to cater to Westbrook. Infact they ****ed up hardens strength and tried o appease Russ. Harden lost his only real pick and roll option

You have to move pieces to get pieces. OkC wasn't going to take eric gordon and gerald green and a cookie for westbrook.

    No doubt.

My point is that it is completely foolish to believe that Tilman comes in as a new owner and makes a move that could potentially upset the best thing his organization has going in James Harden by trading away someone he really enjoys playing with.

Harden was in on this trade and he approved of it.

Harden wanted WB to replace CP3 once he became available. We tried to build something around Harden and CP3, but another opportunity came up so its now Harden and WB.

Harden was doing more ISO and less PNR before WB.

For the casuals who still don't have their information correct because they just haven't done the research and just like to assume. This goes 100% along with all the public woj/insider information from the summer of 2019. Some of yall really need to quit acting like you got it all figured out with your fake news
