Ryno to OKC
Melo to Houston

Fill in around the edges to make salary work?
Billy Donovan doesn't like Kanter, Ryno gives them spacing.
Kanter is better than Bily Donovan thinks and perhaps fits well next to Porzingis.

Don't really see NYK wanting Kanter since he isn't a young prospect or have any upside IMO but he only has 1 year guarantee left and then a player option the following year. Does he opt out though since he'll be making 18 milly that year. I think good chance he might opt in since he probably won't be getting paid anywhere near 18 milly a year. However if he opts out, that's a good deal for NYK to shed some salary, but Kanter does have a 15% trade kicker. I don't know if that could possibly kill the deal.

 

Meh... Presti is focused on building the best team he can.
It's not his fault he was forced to trade Harden, and not his fault deals he had ahead of the Harden deal didn't get done (eg. Wizards not wanting to move Beal)...

Frankly, if he is mad at the Rockets for anything it should be at PBev for injuring (not intentionally) Westbrook that very next year... the Thunder were the best that regular season even with Harden gone.

 

I'm trying to work something on the trade machine, I did a week ago but for some reason when the trade fails now it isn't telling me why. But it works somewhere around:

Toronto sends Jonas Valencunis, VanVleet to New York, and receives Ryno and picks (maybe Zhou Qi)
New York sends Melo to Houston and receives JV and Houston's non-guarenteeds.
Houston sends out Ryno, non-guarenteeds and whatever picks or rights needed, and receives Melo.

Not sure whats missing to make the trade successful but its close. Houston would obviously love this. I'm not sure how Knicks would like a pairing of Porzingis and JV. For Toronto, honestly, I don't think they would consider such a trade, but I know these Raps, I live in Toronto, I think this is something they should consider. The fan base in this city is hype, I honestly do believe Ryno Ibaka front court in the East would lead to more regular season wins, and that'll get them even more hype. They recently acquired CJ Miles so their shooting would vastly improve. They are also locked in with Lowry for three more years so it's not like Rynos contract is going to break them.
