There was a time when Steve Kerr was courted to go the Knicks, instead he went to GSW and got them rings.

    (with apologies to Mr King)

    The Fiz is gone
    The Fiz is gone away
    The Fiz is gone Dolan
    The Fiz is gone away
You know you done us wrong Dolan
    And you'll be sorry someday

    The Fiz is gone
    He's gone away from us
    The Fiz is gone Dolan
He's gone away from the Garden
    Although we'll still live on
    Oh so lonely we'll be

    The Fiz is gone
    He's gone away for good
    Oh, the thrill is gone,
    Dolan
    He's gone away for good
Someday, we'll be over it all
So we'll keep hanging on, we know we should

You know we'll be free, free someday, Dolan
We'll be free from your spell
We'll be free, free, free now
When you've gone down to Hell
Until that's all over and you're burning down there
When the Devil takes you and collects your bill
    You know it's due

Why all the outrage? The Knicks aren't an awful organisation for firing a bottom 3 coach.

Fitzdale has never been anything special or elite in any area of coaching, neither now nor in his other previous coaching gigs. He's not good in X and Os, he is not good in player development and on top of it he often clashes with his players and even calls them out in public.

They can only get better by firing him. Well..unless they go get someone like Jason Kidd.

These last two seasons fall directly on Mills, who, according to sources, will either be reassigned or simply removed from the building. His expiration date is long overdue. The Athletic reported last month that Dolan will try again to pry Raptors President Masai Ujiri from Toronto. If that doesn’t work, maybe NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will point Dolan toward R.C. Buford, Sam Presti, Neil Olshey and Daryl Morey.

I never want to lose Morey, but I would love to see what he could do for the Knicks. Morey knows how to build a team without tanking. Plus, Dolan gives him unlimited money as well to spend.

Dolan would get in the way though. He doesn't have the patience to let anyone do what needs to be done to rebuild that team. That's why no matter who is in charge they end up making rash decisions.

That may be so, but I bet Morey could work with Dolan. I’d love to see what Durrell could do in NY

Dolan has surpassed simply being a bad owner. He is in the running for all time worst at this point. It would take a Scrooge believing in Christmas moment to turn it around. Bah, humbug!

I wouldnt mind taking that gig. I'll get them a winless record (cuz i have no coaching, and no player development skills/background) get fired, and get paid millions in the process. lol

Sounds like a great gig if all you're in it for is the money lol

There’s this strange thought by Clutchfans that
    Spending money solves problems

this has never happened for the Knicks
They have spent lots of money and overpaid many players and coaches and GMs

also there’s this thing where they thought Les Alexander spent money. Yes he spent money on Chinese advertising not players or coaches

people in New York hate this dude passionately
But he will never sell cause he doesn’t need the money

I think there's a difference between spending money and spending money the right way.

if you spend money the right way on the right staff and have the trust to let them do the job they're hired to do, it CAN work. Problem with the Knicks is that they either spend a crap ton of money on crap, or they dont have the patience to let what's broke be fixed.

    This is true
But lots of Clutchfans like to over simplify things
And don’t read up on Rockets history

if it's a long term deal? what does that mean? are assistants on sub-.500 teams such hot commodities that they only "might" consider a multi-million dollar per year raise if it's for 5+ years? unless her family invented oil, then i'm guessing any assistant (who wasn't already a head coach) would take any head coaching job.

Reports are when Phil Jackson came into the job he discovered Steve Mills and co still ran the show. PJ couldnt even hire the medical guy he wanted.

Ok so Dolan has an ego. Big whoop lots of people have egos they are rich af. This is also the same person who spent a ton of cash trying to improve his team and flew Tyson Chandler across the country after every game so he could visit his sick mother.

Like I said he is a gullible person who kept being taken advantage of by sketchy people. These incompetent people are the problem.
