Yeah I think on most teams he's a starter and a good project. At some point life will punch him in the face and he'll sincerely commit to being the best possible 3&D player he can be. When this fantasy of becoming Jayson Tatum ends.

A guy who's left open or wide open 80% of the time must burn the defense. Especially our team which is already struggling with defenders who cheat/sag. For now, we can't allow teams to cheat off him this often without getting severely punished.

Genuinely like the kid but like you said he's not a good fit in the starting lineup. I'd much rather we swallow Reed's defensive shortcomings than watch Bari brick easy shots and play defense out of position. Would love to see him as a super sub 4/5.

Funny how this went from "it cant be kd its fake" to he's right lol Complete lies with Sengun. Given age and position you just need to understand the history of the game. KD cried about not getting the ball because of Sengun when Sengun averages the most assists on the team. Again our offense isnt even built around Senguns strengths which is post play and guys cutting to the basket. Its built around him trying to get the ball to KD and taking last second shots. Sengun is one of the best post players in the league but doesnt get the ball in the post and when he does and is doubled guys dont know how to cut. Contrast that to Euro play and he constnatly gets the ball down low and players constantly run screens and cut off ball. KD is angry about things that are partly his fault. Sengun is a better passer than KD and KD is supposed to be the leader and can barely pass out of double teams but sure its Sengun fault lol

That threesome can’t hit an outside shot to save their lives! Then we got idiot Stone who makes no moves to address the issue and passes up on Cam Thomas who is an elite outside shooter. Never even contacted him. This is what you get when a non-basketball lawyer runs the team.

Jabari's 3 point percentage is right in line with the league average for PF's.... but he's WAY below the league average TS% for PF's.

That wouldn't be a terribly big deal if the Rockets weren't playing Amen who is a complete joke of a shooter pretending to be a guard.

When you are committing to playing Ben Simmons 2.0, everyone else has to be better to make up for how catastrophic they are for spacing.

If Amen could drastically improve and become just kind of bad at shooting, it would change everything but that's almost certainly not going to happen.

That's such a stretch. I would happily ignore the 1% but you can't ignore he's literally open or wide open on 80% of those shots. That's well below average for any position.

Do you understand what kind of percentages people shoot on open shots? To put it in perspective, Jalen Green would have averaged 39% if he were left open that often. He shot 35.6% on NINE attempts while being guarded by the best wing defender every night - and that guy was barely average.

Josh Okogie is shooting 39%. Tari is shooting 40%. This is what happens when guys are left open often.

Just not reasonable to call him an average shooter. Not a single season at or above league average.

A guy who's left open often and makes 35% can't be characterized as average. Teams don't cheat off average shooters because then they make more than the average.

Any chance of them both stepping down and leaving Houston forever?

I don't disagree and I don't mind if we trade him. We just can't have a guy in the starting lineup who teams leave open and he only makes 35%.

I like the kid. I'm a bigger believer in his defense than you. I agree he'll shoot well some day. Want to see him off the bench for now. When that shot picks up he'll win the starting spot easily.

34% when open on 3.1 attempts.
38% when wide open on 2.3 attempts.
    Combined 35%.

Disgusting. He's not even league average on those 5 attempts.

If we're being honest, the PF hitting 36% of his 3's isn't the problem, the complete joke hitting 20% of his 3's while pretending to be a guard is the problem.

agreed, he should be coming off the bench. People forget how good he was in that role late last season and in the playoffs. In fact he was one of our best playoff performers off the bench. Would like to see him play more at center as well.

Jabari is a solid starter on a nice contract. Not exactly a core piece.
