It is still a risk long term, Lowry is getting older, they can't keep Siakam at some point without paying him near max money. And Van Vleet has to get paid as well. A slightly worse situation than the Bucks. And there are more teams arising that can challenge them.
You say they have artificially more money starting tomorrow, so how can they offer the max now but not tomorrow?
No matter what all free agents will sign tomorrow all these are just agreements nothing official. The Lakers will have first to call the league office tomorrow for a Kawhi signing, and THEN the AD trade. Only this sequence makes it possible for them to give him the max. The AD trade will have to be called in the league office tomorrow because it involved trades/draft picks of like 6 teams. So Kawhi can't decide after the AD trade is official if he wants to go to LAL.
Granted LAL can put their own call to the league in the end of the queue to buy some more time but no more than a few hours.
I don’t really care about who’s giving the rumors out. All I know is Kawhi has been around the Raptors for a year now. He won a title with them. He knows what they offer. If he’s still not convinced he should return, it’s a sign that he’s not returning.
what do you mean why? That's how the cba works. If you want details on the complicate rules you are better of asking an expert.
Pretty much. Most NBA players in his position would have returned. Max money, came off a championship, good front office, good fan base, etc etc. Kawhi was spoiled in Toronto. He can come live in LA during his time off.
Rather have harden. This dude is a diva pretending to be low key. Will require five star treatment and sit out half the games cause he’s tired.
gut now pointed heavily at lakers. If it was toronto it would have already been announced. At this point they are just filling the roster up ..starting 5 is Davis Dudley Lebron Kwahi Kuzma Lebron is your point guard?
Lebron has always played point guard. He has lead his team in assists every year he has been in the league, but there is no way he can guard point guards.
right and im sure you would agree him as primary ball handler at his age for 82 games plus playoffs is an interesting conversation and probably not ideal. I guess it wont matter much anyway if the team is kawhi lebron ad
