She is so much faster than anyone else it is kind of crazy. She is the flo jo of swimming. She might be the greatest female swimmer ever. Phelps was good, but he wasn't just destroying people like she is. http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/st...akes-olympic-swimmer-katie-ledecky-remarkable <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YMGRyORNJt8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JbS3u8LrYfw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Watched the women's relay yesterday, Ledecky was the 4th swimmer and was starting behind, but it seems like she dueled her Australian opponent to a draw at best. There was also that Hungarian swimmer that destroyed the world record by more than a body length. Almost 3 people beat the WR in that race. Never know what's going to happen in the bright lights!
She set a WR record without a body suit. She looks pretty large and seems like she has a lebronish hairline, so it might raise suspicion. In the mens 400 the 1st and 2nd place guy were there within a second of each other. She is 5 seconds faster than anyone else. Katinka Hosszu had all these doping allegations when she won, but you don't hear it about Katie. However she is 19 years old and has always been super fast so its more believable than a 27 year old all of sudden becoming fast. She might be the secretariat,Usain bolt, or Flo Jo of women's swimming. She is just a better athlete. Michael Phelps gets so much hype, but he didn't win that many freestyle events which is the race that tests how fast you can get from point A to B in water.
ledecky is awesome, but she's in distance races, so there's a lot more time to build up a huge lead. and at phelps' peak, he was racing all day, every day so he probably wasn't even at his peak in each race.
I guess MJ rubbed off on her. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Happy birthday MJ! <a href="http://t.co/AbA6kor1">pic.twitter.com/AbA6kor1</a></p>— Katie Ledecky (@katieledecky) <a href="https://twitter.com/katieledecky/status/303261194893008896">February 17, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> She went from down a second to winning a the race by a second. It must crush opponents when they know the longer the race goes the farther she will beat you by.
