http://www.esquire.com/blogs/culture/kareem-things-i-wish-i-knew Kareem is a really smart guy. A must read for everyone.
I like some of the points he made but at 30 and still in his NBA prime he should have been focusing on his game. Plenty of time to do all of those things when he retired from the NBA at a still young age compared to the rest of the normal people.
As a soon-to-be 54 year old, I can say that much of what Kareem has written is worthwhile reading for many of our young posters here.

He didn't mean everyone should do yoga and play piano. I think you are missing the point, too. It's about thinking long term, and being aware of your self, and of what is and will be important to you, now and in your future. Good read, I too wish I had known similar things when I was 30. Even the ones you think you know at that age, it's hard to really grasp the idea that you should take time to focus and understand when you are younger. Roger, Roger.
Great read. I think people should start learning or at least thinking about some of that stuff between the ages of 15 and 25...while they're still growing and learning about themselves. Some issues (such as the shyness) are easier to overcome if they're addressed while you're young.
how much money did he lose exactly? also, athlete gotta look into their financial adviser before hiring them
