Justin James is playing the exact role for Wyoming as James Harden is for Houston at the moment.

Does it really matter that I’ve been chatting about my cousin in the NBA draft forum since he was a freshman? @Clutch

Just wait until I move it to the dish or the GARM!

Delete your account. While I haven't been commenting on here, I have been following the thread. I am interested to see if he makes it to the NBA; that would be really great.

    Dude.

I've been following the thread but haven't posted too.

To answer your question, this is the "2019 NBA Draft" forum, where he is eligible to get drafted. So you can shut-up and actually talk draft here (i.e. Houston Cougars 2019)

Cowboys Fall on the Road at Colorado State
James leads Pokes with 29 points
    FINAL STATS

    Next Game:

    at Fresno State

    2/27/2019 | 8 p.m.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Feb. 23, 2019) – The Wyoming Cowboys struggled to find rhythm in 83-48 loss to Colorado State inside Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo. on Saturday afternoon. The Rams hit 13 three-pointers for the game and held the Pokes to 31 percent from the field for the afternoon.

Senior guard Justin James recorded 29 points and added 12 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season and the 14th of his career. James also surpassed 1,900 career points and sits at 1,927 points in the Brown and Gold. He has now scored 20 or more points in a game 18 times this season and 45 times in his career. He tied a career-high with 24 points and had his hand in 93 percent of the Pokes' offense.

"We have to compete together right now," UW head coach Allen Edwards said. "One of the things I told our guys is that their supporting cast didn't shoot the ball well at our place and they were solid this afternoon. We have to play consistent defense and 83 points is too much for us to allow."

Wyoming shot 31 from the field on the afternoon going 16-of-52 and were 2-of-24 from the three-point line. The Rams, who lead the MW in field goal percentage shot 50 percent from the field. Colorado State also held a 41-25 advantage on the glass.

James helped the Pokes take an early 5-4 lead with a layup and an assist on a Trevon "TJ" Taylor three pointer. But the Rams top threat Nico Carvacho added eight points and assisted on two threes, as CSU took a 17-5 lead with 14:06 left in the half.

After the Pokes went on a brief 4-0 run, the Rams countered with a 7-0 run to make it a 22-9 contest halfway through the first frame. Turnovers would hinder an offensive rhythm for the Pokes that helped Colorado State build a 33-15 advantage with 5:29 left.

The Pokes closed out the first half with a dunk by A.J. Banks, the only basket by Wyoming in the final 7:29 of the half, as the Rams took a 40-19 lead at the half. Wyoming was held to 25 percent from the field in the first frame with the Rams hitting 48 percent from the field.

James opened the first half with a steal and a dunk followed by a three pointer from Jake Hendricks to make it a 40-24 contest in the opening minute. But the Rams would maintain the double-digit lead, as back-to-back jumpers and free throws would make it a 47-30 game with 14:25 left.

The Pokes would cut the deficit to 13 points at 47-24 with 13:36 left thanks to a pair of technical free throws and a layup from James. But the Rams would go on a 12-0 run over nearly three minutes to build a 59-34 advantage halfway through the second stanza.

The Rams would maintain that advantage for the rest of the contest on their way to the 83-48 win. The two teams split this season's Border War with each team earning a win on its own floor.

Colorado State was led in scoring by J.D. Paige with 15 points. He also added four rebounds and four assists. Carvacho added 13 points, but was held six rebounds under his nationally leading average of 13.

Wyoming heads to Fresno State for a showdown with the Bulldogs next Wednesday at 8 p.m. MT in the Save Mart Center.

    I appreciate the kind words

I can’t begin to tell you how great it would be. My cousin was 2 years old when I started following clutchfans. I’ve been a basketball fan since I can remember, and to have a relative so close to making it into the NBA has got me in absolute amazement.

FRESNO, Calif. (Feb. 27, 2019) – The Wyoming Cowboys ran into one of the nation's top three-point shooting teams in Fresno State falling on the road on Wednesday evening 71-60 in the Save Mart Center. The Bulldogs connected on 12 three-pointers for the night, as Fresno State came into the contest ranking No. 13 in the nation in triples per game.

"I said to our guys after the game we had an opportunity to cut the lead to four and put ourselves in a great position, but we missed a key three-point opportunity and Fresno State continued to crash the boards," UW head coach Allen Edwards said. "Looking at the stats, we had a great chance. But if you go deeper into stats it was Fresno State's ability to rebound and get more attempts at the rim."

Senior Justin James passed Eric Leckner for fourth all-time in scoring and now has 1,954. He also surpassed 1,000 career points in conference games. He finished his night with 27 points and added 10 rebounds and six assists. James has now scored 20 or more points in 19 games this season and 46 in his career. James added his eighth double-double of the season and the 15th of his career.

"I guess the beauty of Justin James is he has a knack to finds the basket and continues to get things done for us," Edwards said. "He is a special player both on the floor and off the floor."

Freshman Trace Young added 10 points for his sixth game in double-figures this season. He finished the night with a trio of three pointers. Freshman Brandon Porter tied a career-high with 10 points and added four rebounds. Redshirt freshman Hunter Thompson added four blocks on the night for a career best.

The Cowboys finished the night 22-of-52 from the field for 42 percent. The Bulldogs were held to 37 percent from the field nearly eight point below their season average. The Bulldogs held the advantage on the glass 41-33.The Bulldogs had 15 offensive boards.

The Bulldogs got out to a 10-5 advantage on the Pokes, as Nate Grimes was the difference in the middle with four-straight points to push Fresno State ahead. But the Bulldogs missed six-straight field goal attempts, as the Pokes made it an 11-10 contest for Wyoming with 12:23 left in the frame.

Braxton Huggins of Fresno State would make back-to-back threes to give the Bulldogs a 16-11 lead nearly halfway through the half. The Pokes would later battle back thanks to James and a pair of triples from Young to tie the contest at 23-23 with 6:44 left in the frame.

Fresno State would go on an 8-0 run to build a 31-23 advantage holding Wyoming scoreless for over three minutes. The Pokes made it a 33-29 contest thanks to a jumper from James and a fast break layup from Porter off a steal with 1:48 left in the opening frame.

The Bulldogs would close the half on a 5-0 run to take a 38-29 lead into halftime. The Pokes shot 41 percent from the field and held the Bulldogs to 38 percent in the first 20 minutes. Fresno State's damage came from behind the arc hitting seven three pointers.

After Trevon "TJ" Taylor opened the second frame with a three-pointer, the Bulldogs went on a 5-0 run to build a double-digit advantage 43-32. James would go on a 4-0 run himself to make it a 43-36 contest with 16:22 left.

A scoring drought of over three minutes and turnovers by the Cowboys allowed the Bulldogs to build a 50-39 advantage nearly halfway through the second frame. The Pokes would make it a seven point game with another Young three ball for a 50-43 contest with 9:54 left, but another scoreless drought by the Pokes lasting nearly four minutes helped the Bulldogs build a 59-43 lead with six minutes left.

James would reach the 20-point mark and make it a 10 point game, but the Bulldogs would not hold back taking the contest 71-60.

The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Braxton Huggins with 30 points. One of the top scorers in the Mountain West, he went 9-of-21 from behind the arc. Grimes added 15 points and 14 rebounds on the night for a double-double.

The Cowboys return to action on Saturday hosting Air Force at 4 p.m. on AT&T SportsNet. 3/6/2019 | TBA

LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 2, 2019) – Despite Wyoming's 13 three pointers for the night, the Air Force Falcons shot 47 percent from the field and used 20 second chance points in a 80-72 win over the Cowboys inside the Arena-Auditorium on Saturday. The Cowboys cut a 10-point deficit to two points in the final minute, but the falcons hit free throws late to seal the win.

"This is a different Air Force team in terms of what they want to do offensively, and so we did have to mix it up some between man and zone (defense)," UW head coach Allen Edwards said. "It was a hard fought game the whole way. We cut it to two (72-74) with under a minute to play (58 seconds). They hit a couple free throws on their next possession, and then after we missed a three Air Force came back with a big possession there at the end where they got us on a back cut and we were called for a blocking foul to stretch the lead out (to six points 78-72). "

Wyoming was led in scoring by senior Justin James with 23 points, six rebounds and five assists. James has scored 20 or more points in 20 games this season and 47 times in his career. He is now 23 points away from 2,000 for his career. He was 8-of-17 from the field on the night in 40 minutes of action.

"Obviously J.J. (Justin James) is a special basketball player," Edwards said. "To come away with 23 points and six rebounds was another outstanding performance.

Junior Jake Hendricks added 18 points on six three pointers for the second most in his career. He hit a career-high seven against Air Force in the first meeting this season and once against Denver. Freshman trace Young added 11 points with three triples. Junior guard A.J. Banks and senior Jordan Naughton added six points. Banks also added six rebounds and four assists.

"I did think Jake (Hendricks) played better tonight," Edwards said. "He made some shots (6 of 11 from three-point range)."

Air Force was led by Ryan Swan with a career-high 37 points. He was 13-of-17 from the field for the night. It was the second most points by an opponent after Boston College's Ky Bowman scored 38 against the Pokes on Nov. 19.

The Pokes finished the night 24-of-55 for 44 percent. The Falcons countered at 47 percent. Wyoming was 13-of-36 from behind the arc for 36 percent. Air Force held a 41-28 advantage on the boards including grabbing 12 offensive rebounds.

"When you look at our team, we have to minimize things like second-chance points to win basketball games. I thought a few times we had guys watching the action on the glass rather than getting in there and mixing it up a little bit. We did do a better job of taking care of the basketball today (only eight turnovers committed).

After the Falcons opened the game with a three-pointer, the Pokes went on a 9-0 run thanks to a pair of triples from Hendricks and a another three-ball from Trevon "TJ" Taylor. But the Falcons would go on an 8-0 run to build an 11-9 advantage five minutes into the half.

The Falcons continued to their hot shooting at 58 percent and held a 21-16 advantage nearly halfway through the half, but a drive and bucket from James and a triple from Trace Youngtied it at 21-21 nearly halfway through the half.

After another brief run by the Falcons, the Cowboys tied the game at 29-29 and AJ Banks made it a 31-29 game with a hammer dunk on a lob from James with 5:38 left in the half. Air Force would go on a 7-0 run to take a 36-31 advantage with three minutes remaining in the first frame.

The Pokes would battle, but the Falcons hit a key three-pointer late taking a 44-40 lead into the break. Air Force hit 58 percent of their three-pointers in the first 20 minutes with the Pokes adding eight triples in the half.
The Falcons came out strong to open the second half building an eight point advantage at 53-45 with 15:19 left in the game. Lavelle Scottie was hot for the Falcons with six points early in the frame.

Hendricks would hit back-to-back threes, a pair of freebies from James and a fast break dunk from Young made it a 57-54 lead for the Falcons with 11:13 left. But the Falcons pushed the lead to nine points halfway through the half with Swan leading the charge.

The Pokes made it a five-point contest at 69-64, but a triple from AJ Walker pushed the Falcon advantage back to eight with 4:17 left.

Wyoming chipped away at the lead and made it a two-point game at 74-72 with 58 seconds left. James made recorded an-and-one to make it a two point contest. But the Falcons responded with six-consecutive free throws to take the contest, 80-72.

Scottie added 18 points and 10 rebounds and is one point shy of 1,000 for his career. He was 8-of-22 from the field for the night.

The Pokes return to action on Wednesday heading to San Jose State for a matchup with the Spartans at 8 p.m. MT.
