Hey guys, just finished up the re-do of my production company website. Tell me what you think... <a href="http://www.zerozero8.com/">Zero Zero 8 Productions</a> ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
Very clean! I like it! The zerozero font/logo is pretty cool too! ------------------ This space left intentionally blank...
Excellent work Jeff! Just out of curiosity, how many hours did you put into building it? ------------------ I figure the odds be 50/50, I just might have something to say.
Crisp and clean layout. This sentence: In 2001, we are growing and changing with the single-minded purpose of making great music every day. will always be problematic at the end of the year. I am trying to think of a way to show that the site (your business) is current without dating itself. Mango ------------------ Get it right or just don't do it! Resistance is futile....you will be assimilated. Start more Dream threads!
Excellent work. Can even see the progression of your web-page building skills as you move from saveourrockets through to the new site. ------------------ American business long ago gave up on demanding that prospective employees be honest and hardworking. It has even stopped hoping for employees who are educated enough that they can tell the difference between the men's room and the women's room without having little pictures on the doors.
site looks nice Jeff...I need about 8-10 hours of studio time to finish my "album" (seriuosly) "Fake Jazz for the Slow Crowd." I'll have to get down to Houston (from Austin) sometime & put ya'll to work ------------------ www.expage.com/saveourunis
Thanks for the comments everyone: mc mark: It took me probably around 35 to 40 hours total. I could've been done faster but I hemmed and hawed about a few things and kinda took the long way on others. I should've done less straight coding and done more with Go Live, but I tend to like coding it better. I'm guessing, if I'd have had the graphics more organized, I could've done it in about 25 to 30 hours total. The graphics took the longest because I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I spent most of my time on that and the layout. The rest was fairly easy. mango: I know, but I plan on being active in keeping this site up to date. I probably will re-work some of the text on the site as my wife, the genius editor, has a look around. cson: Bring it on! Happy to help however I can. ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
Nice site, Jeff. Looks very professional. ------------------ Clutchcity.net... source for all your Rockets, Astros, political, music, humor, and Gordita news.
Hell, I already got a call about web design from a long-time cc.net lurker. How cool is that? ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
Very schmancy! I like it. I do so much programming now I hardly ever get to do design. I hate to make the following UI suggestions on the graphics since you spent the most time on those, but here are some thoughts: 1. I would change the magnifying glass icon to an open folder icon (Wingdings, the "1" key) or something. On most other sites, a magnifying glass means "Search." 2. I would change the text on the ear to "Listen." I was confused that it said music when there was a bass clef icon next to it. 3. What if you switched the eye to be for web design and the i to be about? The i could stand for info, and the eye could mean you have an eye for design. Anyway, just some thoughts. I think the site looks fantastic though and you don't have to listen to me cuz most of the time I don't know sh!te. ------------------ Brion Gysin once said, "Man is a bad animal."
Not that I dont like the clutchcity.net layout, but when was the lat time it had an update. It could potentially use a new look. Maybe, maybe no. ------------------ American business long ago gave up on demanding that prospective employees be honest and hardworking. It has even stopped hoping for employees who are educated enough that they can tell the difference between the men's room and the women's room without having little pictures on the doors.
Nice web site, very attractive. I noticed your partner has the Beach Boys in his CD player. Good choice. I'm a fanatic.
How does Go Live compare with Dreamweaver? I know that FrontPage is worthless. I don't know the first thing about coding, but I have used Dreamweaver.
Excellent graphics, crisp and clean with no caffeine! Rock on Jeff! rH ------------------ Updated: The Psychedelic Groove House of Rockets Basketball Love! join the club! Very nice. Hey Jeff, when I get my Media Production degree, can I have a job? ------------------ "Do you know what nemesis means? 'A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent'. Personified, in this case, by a horrible c***: ME." - Brick Top, Snatch
Go Live is basically a stripped down version of Dreamweaver. I will probably invest in Dreamweaver and the InterDev stuff early next year. It REALLY streamlines the process of things like mouseovers, etc. AhPook: Thanks for the comments. I get what you are saying and I understand. Maybe on the next re-do, I'll make those changes or if anyone else mentions it down the road. I'll keep those in mind for later site designs as well. Thanks again to everyone for your comments. They are very much appreciated. Also, if anyone catches any typos, please let me know! Most of the site was done in the wee small hours and sometimes I don't remember writing it. ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
Couple things. In fairness to Clutch, he did most of the work on SOR. I helped with a few graphics and gave direction, but he was the mastermind there. As for cc.net, Clutch has discussed a redesign and I think he wants to do it but he is just swamped busy with his new daughter and work. There are also other issues to deal with like new hosting, how to deal with the cost of server space, whether to attempt developing in other environments like My SQL, etc. There is a LOT to think about with a site this huge. My guess is that there won't be a significant overhaul before the end of this season, but I'm here to help him if he needs it. He certainly won't need the design help, but I'm good at the monkey work like typing the same thing over and over and over again! ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
