Wow, Sacramento is really testing the validity of the phrase "there's not enough money in the world to make me .... (Play in Sacto)" First the Wes Mathews offer. Next they will offer josh smith the max.
welp.... so much for getting Josh back on the cheap. They are going to pay him far too much with the cap space they just killed themselves to get. And everyone here wanted to "Trade Jones ASAP". -Smith going to the Kings potentially big $ -D-Mo just now taking his first shot of the Summer coming back from back surgery Love him or hate him (most hate him obviously), there is a damn good reason why the Rockets weren't fast tracking a Jones trade.
Smith to Kings could work for Houston, especially if they are still after Rondo. S&T him for Collison would then be in play, I'd think. Don't flame me but I like a Pg/PF rotation of Collison/Bev, DMo/TJ more than Bev/FA or Pablo, DMo/Smith.
how much are the pistons paying him next season and how much do the pistons not have to pay him if he receives a big deal?
It was expected. Next they will target brewer and if lakers get rondo beverly. If i were them i would target noone and just dont like the deal with philly. They still can do that.
I don't think houston would want to SnT using smith (bc that would require use of the MLE). Far better to use Papaniks non guaranteed contract as the primary basis.
I don't see why this matters, and why people keep on bringing it up. The major point is the number where it really makes a big difference in Josh's earnings vs. what Houston will likely offer him (2.5 mil ish), is to get to a 8 mil per year offer. If the Kings or any other team offer him more than 8 mil a year, I would assume he's gone.
