They should probably just realign their ratings and ad benchmarks to what a basic cable chat show would typically garner instead of switching hosts every year, everyone's over-thinking every single aspect of this.

Well-intentioned, in a very tough no-win position, but ineffective and sometimes counterproductive to his own causes, but shamelessly supported AND hated by legions of people suffering from confirmation bias?

Or --
Black and therefore what he represents is more important than what he does?

I really think this will be the real problem, though time will tell. Conservatives and the more easily offended of the basically contented "moderates" may not watch if the content is too liberal for them. The remaining audience will watch if he is indeed funny which I wonder about, too.

Never thought i'd see the day that I'd agree with this poster. I've seen Trevor do a correspondent skit for the daily show and it was awkwardly bad. Very bad. Very forced and unfunny. Not a fan of this move. Oh well.

There is no bigger Daily Show fan, hell I depend on it to cope, but I am not thrilled.
