No criticism intended on my part -- we just have different outlooks on "news" as opposed to "commentary."

I guess it's like sending you kid to Harvard. There is just zero political or intellectual diversity there. The place is ruled by left-wing liberal progressive people who watch the daily show

Should diversity your kid's learning by also sending him to Liberty University.

    Am I right?

This is getting close to Jon Stewart's Pièce de résistance. FAUX is 100% solely and purely a propaganda machine. But, is it's purpose to be politically divisive and ensure obstruction or is that a by-product of ensnaring a niche audience to sell advertising to? It's a multi-billion dollar brand. And, which purpose would be more insidious?

It was funny watching the Fox newsers in that clip pitch the same criticisms that Commodore, Casey H and the rest of the grousers were whining about "Oh he just plays clips and makes faces no biggie...".

For all the wingers pretend not to care about Stewart, Colbert et al - why did they try to copy them so much.....and fail so badly, anybody remember The Half Hour News Hour? yeah...didn't think so.

The sad part is, just like the Comcast deal, where billions of dollars are involved , the deep pockets and their paid for advocates won't relent. FAUX and the GOP will just keep doubling down. The status quo favors Corporatist, and an obstructed Congress just deepens the advantage.

I see the future as either a full scale plutocracy or a populist revolution. My bet would be on plutocracy. I thought the internet would be a democratizing voice of the people but it seems it's more the Soma and manipulatable by paid shills.

The Daily Show will regress to a lower level of viewership than the Craig Kilborn days. This guy just doesn't have it -- not that anyone is capable of completely filling Stewart's shoes.

John Oliver would have. It's too bad it didn't work out.

I feel like Trevor Noah gained fame through that one joke in his stand up that is funny. I tried watching the rest and just felt it was veiled attempts at making fun of different cultures. It's basically impossible to replace Jon Stewart, but I think there were better options than Noah. I really wish Jessica Williams wanted the role, she would have been phenomenal. As a correspondent, I thought she was funnier than John Oliver (though he is now killing it on Last Week Tonight).

To be fair. . . I don't recall John's Stand up having me rolling in the aisles
Trevor would not have been my first choice . . . . he is more humorous than funny
[a measure of degrees i guess]

Jessica would have been very interesting
    Both are so young [Trevor - 31 . . Jessica - 26 I think]
Political humor seems like an old man's game

So Comedy Central hired an anti-Semite to replace Jon Leibowitz? And a guy who is sexist? Shameful.

Trevor Noah will not last long on The Daily Show. The ratings will plummet, and Comedy Central will ax him within one year...two tops.

I was expecting jordan klepper. Since he was used so much lately.

I do like the south african accent. We will see how he does. I did like his bits when he was on. Maybe they will go on a more world focussed route. Just like last week tonight. Mainly the us but a lot of world politics.
