He meant "For those of us LOFs who have followed his career and the decisions he's made over the years..." As if worshiping Airemy gives the LOFs some special access to his life and his thought processes. lulz
Correct...but Lin will have his fans in China no matter where he plays...whether it is in the NBA, Europe, Russia, or Israel. What I'm saying is that the only reason for him to play in Europe/Russia/Israel is to try to get back to the NBA, and that returning to the NBA is the biggest money opportunity for Lin...so by his choosing to play in China, he's giving up on the idea of returning to the NBA and the money upside that playing in the NBA offers. He's forgoing the financial upside of getting back to the NBA, instead choosing to pursue a path that is more personally satisfying in China.
Returning to NBA is not the biggest money opportunity for Lin because all the NBA teams have made it very clear to him that he is not wanted. Scrub factor.
Actually, he's at a point where he'll make more there....salary/endorsements/connections.....a fringe NBA player at best, but with options. He needs to move on to the next chapter of his life. Instead of trying to hump a dead over hyped NBA career that made him millions.
Correct...and this is what he's doing. Moving on to the next chapter of his life playing in China. He's choosing to move on to play for personal goals instead of continuing to try to go for the NBA where his global appeal and financial opportunity would be larger.
Returning to the NBA in a role that is not a bench warmer would give Lin big money opportunities as his jersey and other merchandise would still be wildly popular among his fans around the world. But you are correct, as Lin has acknowledged, that currently NBA teams do not want to take the risk of signing him for anything more than being a bench warmer at this point in his career. The way Lin would have to prove to NBA teams that he is worthy of being more than a bench warmer is to go play in a competitive league like the Euro League and prove that he's still able to play...and even then there are no guarantees. So he's choosing to forgo the notion of ever returning to the NBA and instead is choosing to pursuing his personal goals of playing in China. He decided this against the wishes of his agent and his marketing CEO.
Pursing his personal goals of playing in China.... ....because that is what the Bballers dream of... ....to play in the scrub league with a bunch of other scrubs.
@Zboy Do I have to quote Jeremy Lin to the LOF? Jeremy Lin didn’t choose to leave the NBA because he wanted to go to China “The NBA gave up on me” global appeal? Dude he’s not gaining new fans at this stage of his career he just has the same extremely al queda like extremist fans who make multiple accounts on many sites to defend their leader from any form of harmful truths to his ego
You should join CometsWin on those reading lessons! I never said Lin chose to leave the NBA. And I’ve said that his crying probably closed any chance he had of NBA team signing him for his year. I said he gave up trying to return to the NBA via the Euro League...his agent and his marketing CEO wanted him to consider the Euro League because it offered the best chance for him to eventually get back to the NBA, but Lin decided on China which is basically him giving up on trying to get back.
@CometsWin The opposing teams fans in the China league should have signs saying ‘Rock Bottom’ At the games
His heritage is to get paid Rock bottom = no NBA contract = no millions of dollars to play as a third string point guard https://www.scmp.com/sport/basketba...ffered-us3-million-sign-beijing-ducks-chinese Jeremy Lin ‘offered US$3 million’ to sign for Beijing Ducks in the Chinese Basketball Association
if the LOF left the site, then nobody here would be spinning that he joined the Chinese league for the kids look he's already teaching that rock bottom is when you are a millionaire and that the NBA has given up on you after you get demoted to third string point guard he's teaching the kids how to cry about money in church and I'm sure his fans are crying like their dog died too about it
So when he goes every summer to Taiwan and China to run youth camps and stuff, that wasn't important to him?
