Did you watch those youtube clips in this thread? I only watched the Jazz/Heat clip, and there were a bunch of assisted shots that he created.

For instance, there were several instances where, b/c of Jefferson's low-post ability, Miami was trying to deny him the ball by fronting him in the post. When that happened, Utah would just reverse the ball and pass it to a cutting Jefferson for the dunk (at that point, the defender who was fronting him became pinned behind him).

That's an assisted fg that wouldn't have been possible w/o Jefferson's low-post scoring ability.

Similarly, there were a lot of assisted fg's that came from Jefferson hitting an uncontested 17 foot jump shot b/c his defender didn't want to leave the post area.

My point is that there's a big difference between the assisted fgs that Jefferson gets vs the assisted fgs that guys like Asik/Chandler get.

Guys like Chandler and Josh Smith would improve what we already have. Jefferson would give our offense an entirely new dynamic. That's why he'd be much more valuable to this team.

And what's wrong with post up plays? How many times has a team won a championship without a dominant post player?

Yep, you're right. But what conclusion are you trying to draw from that? I'm sure he would improve the rebounding rate for just about any other team.

Al Jefferson is good, but he is not very good at defense compared to Asik. Is Al a good rebounder? I'm not sure, I don't think he is... On the flip side, he is a lot better on offense than Asik. In the end, I'd still be okay with Al/Smith if it also meant improving our bench.

Parsons
Smith
Jefferson.

Interesting how Lin would become our worst starter in this situation. I'll say it again, Lin would be best as 6th man. It would solidify our bench. With that starting lineup, Lin wouldn't be getting many touches anyways...

It's debatable who is better between Parsons and Lin. But, it would only be interesting if Parsons or Lin were better than any of the other 3 since the other 3 have max or near max contracts.
